Beginner April 2010

4 months!!!

Omg H2B and I have decided to get married in May now instead of April 2010. We plan on going to Las Vegas with 2 friends as witnesses, as we've decided we don't want the big white wedding etc.

I could do with some help though from any of you ladies that have or are planning on marrying abroad. I just need to know how the legal side of it works.

Thanks

    Wow! Big change of plans!

    I'm getting married in Vegas in October. We're having the ceremony in the Classico Chapel at Caesars and an in-suite reception in the huge G-Suite at The Palms. Vegas has so many options for all budgets so I know you'll find something perfect for you. Have a look at the Las Vegas-Reno-Tahoe message board at www.theknot.com. Lots of Vegas brides there and it's been an invaluable resource to me.

    Legally, it's very easy to get married in Vegas. You need to fill in a form and pitch up at the Clark County Court House with your passport and $55 to apply for your license. If you've been divorced previously, you need your final decree papers. More info at the website:

    Also have a look at the Vegas Knottie FAQ,;

    Good luck with the planning! I've seen a few of the different chapels and been in most of the hotels, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

    Omg that's great!

    I wouldn't have minded doing something like that. Unfortunately, H2B wants all his family at the wedding, which is completely understandable, and they wouldn't be able to go with us.

    I've heard of the Little Chapel of Flowers, which looked nice and sounds so lovely! Good luck and keep us posted ?

    Thanks Mogwai thats a great help.

    Another quick question. is there anything we have to do for the marriage to be recognised here, or will the certificate be enough?

    We've looked at the Chapel of Flowers and really like it so think its gonna be there. Need to get my bum into gear now tho and get some plannin done ?
