40 days to go. Cold feet setting in a bit :(

moonpie1985, 27 May, 2012 at 08:49 Posted on Planning 0 7

With just 40 days to go I'm starting to get cold feet.

Dont know why, but mentioned it to FH and have out it down to stresses.

I hope this feeling passes soon as its stopping me from wanting to do any wedding plans!

Aw hun...don't worry it will pass, I promise. I had it on and off because of the stresses of planning. I thought "Why are we doing this? All this money for ONE day? Why are we fussing over tealights, where people sit, how we tie the ribbon?" Just remember the real reasons why...you love your OH, you want to celebrate this amazing day with your friends and family, the small bits wont really matter and it will be perfect FOR YOU BOTH.

Perhaps try and get away for the weekend? Or even just go for a day trip with oh, don't discuss the wedding- Im sure its natural and will soon pass Smiley smile X

I have felt the same this past week, the stress got to me and I've been very cold with my OH :-( I've also had a few online mum friends of mine go through separations and divorces recently and it's been worrying me. And i've also been wobbling over the fact that i just wanted a small simple wedding which it is not and is a lot of fuss and expense for one day! I'm sure it will pass though and we'll have a fab day!

Guess you need to try and sort out in your head what you are worried about. Is it just worrying how the day will turn out? Is it money worries? Doubts about your partner? Or doubts about marriage in general?

All these things are normal, you just need to take some time to stand back and have a think about what you really want.

What have you got left to do planning wise?

I agree with the others, take some time: day/night/weekend and don't mention weddingy things.

We started arguing and OH said he was having second thoughts (thankfully about the day/cost, not marriage!!) we fought loads so we took some time out and we didnt talk about the wedding, but about the actual marriage and OH got really happy and started saying 'can't wait till your my wife' etc. It eased the stress so much!
