Hi everyone Smiley smile

starting to panic a bit now as it's 6 months until my wedding day and I still need to lose roughly 2.5 stone! Eek!! I bought a size 14 wedding dress in a sample sale and I will fit into it! Probably shouldn't have put myself under so much pressure, but I thought it would be motivating.. Ha!

I've lost roughly 3.5 stone the last 2 years, but it's really slowed down now. Does anyone else have quite a bit of weight to lose for their wedding? I would love to find a weight loss buddy for support!

Alice

Well done on the weight loss Miss pickle, I forgot to weight myself this morning such a busy morning getting my son to his appointment. Will weigh myself tomorrow!!

I don't use myfitnesspal, but I do look at the forum for some motivation. I'm pretty good at counting calories anyway and knowing what do eat. I've lost 2 stone before after my son so know exactly what I need to do to get there. Exercise is my problem and finding time for it, I've got an exercise bike in my bedroom which I do enjoy, that was my preferred choice of exercise when losing weight after my son. I toned up so much and lost loads of inches so will probably do that again. OH has just bought the new xbox which has Kinect and has a free fitness thing with 30 day shred, insanity all the popular fitness DVD's more fun when you can actually see how many calories you are burning so will try and do that aswell when I get time and when he isn't hogging the xbox ?

Well done on the loss mp! I lost 1lb this week.

First run is scheduled for tomorrow. Looking forward to it! I have work today which is good because it makes it impossible to snack.

    Well done Muppet ;-)

I am exactly them same, I find it harder to be good with food when I at home as I just want to snack, so it is safer to be at work!

Good luck with your run tomorrow ;-)

Run 1 is done! Feel so good about it!

The veg box is free! Worth £25 though got it through a voucher code. If its good I'll probably keep them up but not such a big box. Thats to feed 5-6 people. .. just wanted to get the most from my free box!

I'm in search of healthy lunch ideas. Soup isn't too filling for me maybe warm salads?

I could cry weighed myself today for the first time in months and i'm 11st 7 ?? Wasn't that long ago I was 10st 13, i'm hoping it's just down to being on my period (sorry TMI) anyway hopefully when I weigh in with the rest of you on Friday things will be looking much better. I'm not going to try and worry about it and just get on with it.

It's probably due to TOTM - don't fret over it!

I've started the new week positively. Porridge for breakfast, Cous cous and falafels for lunch and dinner will be veggie chilli with rice. 70 mins of walking done today - had thought last night I might do another run this morning, but, woah, you do really need those rest days!!

Run no 2. scheduled for tomorrow, I did it on sunday so have no excuses not to manage tomorrow!

Aw, try not worry Sam, I'm sure things will be looking better by weigh in on Friday ;-)

Muppet, it sounds like you are doing great ;-) I went to the gym today and as part of the workout we had to do high knees - hanging from the bar and pulling your knees up as high as possible; so I am with you on the aching, lol!

MP - that sounds painful! I have no upper body strength at all!

Went for run no 2 at 5:30 this morning, then walked 2 miles to work. I hope this is all pays off!

Having a complete rest day tomorrow, OH can walk the dog, and I'll drive to work, so my muscles can recover!

    Hi ?

I'm new to the site, but quickly discovered this forum and this thread, which is very dear to my heart!

I get married in 229 days time (eeeek) and want to lose at least 1.5 stone by then. I exercise loads but need to get a grip with what im eating. Winter doesnt seem to be helping!

Would love some help and support (and handy tips) from fellow brides to be ?

    Welcome!!

Does anyone here weigh everyday ? I know I shouldn't but I can't help myself, I've been stuck at the same weight ALL week and it's driving me insane!! I only record my weight on a Friday, but I just want the scales to go down!

Good news is I don't ache anymore, and I'm looking forward to completing week 1 of couch to 5k tomorrow.

Also can't wait for payday so we can get some much needed food in the house!! Going to find lots of healthy recipes to cook in the coming weeks.

I have to admit, I weigh every day too! I know i shouldn't as it makes me a little bit obsessed, but it seems to keep me on the straight and narrow .... sort of!

Had my first trip to a wedding dress shop yesterday. Actually buzzing today! Think i may have found 'the one' already, but will shop around a bit first, just to make sure.

Even more determined now too shift this extra weight. Just need to stay focused!

Hope everyone is having a good day ?

I knew I couldn't be the only one! I find it helps, last night for example, OH has a few beers and offered me one, and knowing I'd be stepping on the scales this morning and had tried so hard with my run made me say noooo.

Oooo amazing if you have found your dress! I'm not going to shop for one until the new year I don't think. It's going to be off the shelf so want to be a my ideal weight (or as near to as poss) before I get it.

Yes Alice! I am so with you!

I run every morning, so exercise isnt my problem. Its really the amount of picking I do, mainly when i get home from work. I can be good all day, then undo it all in the space of a few hours. Biscuits are my enemy!!

When are you getting married? My date is mid July, so have about 8m months to get focused and in the zone. Christmas looming is worrying though ?

Muppet - you won't see a weight loss every week, why don't you take measurements? When I lost 2 stone after having my son I used to keep a record of my measurements, so if I didn't lose any weight I usually would of lost inches instead - keeps you motivated!

I know Sam - but I have so much to lose that I thought I would see some results, I've been really lax recently, and it's just annoying the week I really get my bum in gear and get focused, NOTHING (so far..)

    Hello ;-)

Hayles - how exciting that you might have found your dress ? are you going to flash us a pic?

Muppet - well done on your running ;-) I went out yesterday evening with just my dog and managed 2.7 miles in 27 minutes. I am quite proud of myself because I normally only go with my mate and I kept up a good pace; I really feel like the exercise I have been doing recently is starting to pay off ;-)

I weigh myself every couple of days although I know I shouldn't and should just leave it for once a week when it is weigh in day ?

WelshSam - I think that sounds like a really good idea, I think I might start taking some measurements, it would be really good to have some results even if I haven't lost any weight ;-)

How are we all feeling about weighing in tomorrow? I hope I see some results because I feel like I have been good with my food and exercise all week, fingers crossed!

Thanks MP - It's enjoyable and I used to run all the time, so glad to be getting back into it. Did managed to lock myself out this morning! Not great when I just wanted to get in the shower! Well done on your running too! - I find my dog really helps me keep up the pace.

I'm feeling okay about weigh in, I really want to see a loss, but I know the hard work this week will show in the long run even if there isn't any change on the scales tomorrow!

Quite glad with Christmas round the corner that I'm home alone this year for lunch - I can have something healthy instead and try not to over indulge!

When you start an exercise regime it's normal to actually stay the same weight or gain as your muscles hold more water. After about 4-6 weeks this should come off and you should see a big loss.

I know quite a bit about fitness and nutrition through friends who lift weights.

I'll be interested to see now tomorrow whether I had genuinely gained or was it all down to TOTM. Hoping it's the latter.

    Hi Ladies!

I hope everyones wedding plans are going well!

I get married in May and I’m going to do a 9day cleansing programme to try and get myself into healthier eating and drinking habits...I definitely need a kick start so I thought I’d give it a whirl!! It gets rid of the toxins built up in your body and a natural side effect of the programme is often weight loss. It seems the first couple of days are the hardest but everyone I know who has done this has felt amazing for it, so hopefully that will spur me on!! There’s a facebook support group so I can see how other people are getting on too.

I thought it might be a good idea to gradually cut down my alcohol and caffeine intake over a week before I start rather than just cutting it out on day 1! How has everyone else been getting on?

I really need to get serious with my weight loss especially with people saying you should buy your wedding dress in advance. I'm finding it hard to stay motivated and it's hard eating healthy when you're a picky eater like me.

Bamboo -do you mean picky as in grazer or picky fussy. I am the queen of fussy. I am 98% vegan because I'm so picky!

    You can do it! :-)

    Hello all

This is my first time using this forum so fingers crossed I'm going to be able to post.

I'm getting married in 195 days and also want to lose weight. I'm currently around 11st 4lb and would love to get down to 9st 13lb (or any weight that starts with a 9!). I'm also really struggling with motivation. I've joined a bootcamp and I love it when I go but find it difficult to get there in the first place. It's so dark in the evenings now that when I go home I tend not to go out again. I've now started to take my kit to work, get changed there and go straight to my class at 6:15pm. It didn't work last week but going to try again this week.

I don't have a weakness for anything sweet, savouries are my downfall - crisps, peanuts, cheese, crackers. Oh, and there's wine of course. :-(

I'd like to join your weekly weigh-in if I can. I already have my dress and it's at the dressmakers awaiting alterations. It was in a end-of-range sale and is currently a size 20 (it was the only one they had) so it needs to be taken in (I'm currently a 14-16) but I'd love to get back down to being a size 12 and I don't like photos of myself at the mo.

    Welcome Julie,

I went for a run yesterday, over ate/drank on Saturday, so hopefully will make up for it this week. It's my birthday Sunday, so this weekend I'm not counting cals at all. I will still run though.

    Welcome Julie ?

It definitely seems harder to find motivation for exercise in Winter when it gets dark so early outside!

I had an awful weekend food wise; fell of the diet wagon on Friday and had a really naughty takeaway [pizza, garlic bread, chips and garlic sauce - yummy], Saturday I had mine and OHs parents for dinner and we had fondue followed by a homemade backed cheesecake [683 calories a slice, ouch!] and yesterday we were at a wedding where it felt like all I did was eat and drink tonnes!

The only good thing was I managed a 5 mile run on Sunday morning to counteract a few of the calories ;-)

Back on track today though and just hoping that when it comes to weigh in day on Friday I haven't put any weight on!

I'm finding exercise motivation okay, but, I have to get up to walk my dog anyway, and running is keep me warmer! It's just eating. I had salad today, and salad on December 2nd just doesn't sit well.... So tonight I'm making a mushroom and spinach lasagne for the rest of the week's food, and it's just dinners I need to worry about.
