6 months today!! How are my date twins coming along? 27th August 2011

Kat44, 27 February, 2011 at 11:43 Posted on Planning 0 8

Oooh it's come around so fast!! ? I can't believe this time in 6 months I will be 1 hour away from gettin married!!

We're pretty much sorted I think. We have booked and put deposits down on everything so just the balances and details to finalise. Just looking at all the little details now, jewellery, shoes, gifts. Think that's about all thats left to buy! Invites being sent later this week and got our menu tasting next week! ?

How are my date (or any other bank holiday brides) coming on?

I've been waiting for this time line!! Can't believe it's only 6 months (+ 1 day) for me also.

We were talking about the things that are left to do this morning, and TBH, not a lot now. Have meeting with the venue booked for middle of March so I can go along armed with my list of questions. Invites went out Friday and RSVPs already being received!!

The only thing I have left to buy are the shoes and accessories for my two step daughters, who are the BMs.

Then it's just the little things like decide on my flowers, hair/makeup trials, suit fitting for OH, dress fittings for me and BMs, finalise music choices and ceremony wording, book dogs in kennels, organise our minimoon.

So, I don't think too much, and it's only been these last few weeks that's it's all started to come together.

Everyone asks how the wedding plans are coming on, but then I think they instantly regret it, as I spend the next 15 mins prattling on about it!

Hey!! Six months, yeah - have been waiting for this landmark too! Time will fly now but am so excited.

Things are sorting themselves out quite nicely, did the last big thing yesterday and chose and ordered the dress for my bridesmaid. Plus I bought my shoes (well my first pair), veil, tiara and underskirt while we were there. ? Our invited arrived yesterday too and although maybe not to everyone's taste, we love them! Not sending them out til late April though so now have 2 massive boxes sitting in the kitchen until then. I know I'll end up having a peek everytime I go in there!

As you say, it's the small things now, looking forward to putting the finishing touches together and deciding on fun stuff like menus etc. He he, you've got me more excited now just writing this!!

Exact date twin! I can't believe how fast it is approaching us. It's exciting but a bit scary at the same time. I've still got loads to do!! I can't find a single wedding invitation I like so have been designing my own this afternoon ... it's taking forever! I've got an appointment with the seamstress in April to start the alterations on my dress and Andy's wedding ring is being made as we speak.

I've still got Andy's suit to sort out, we need to give notice (I can't find my passport) and need to iron out the finer details with the reception venue. We are still deciding on what to do inbetween the ceremony and the reception as there is about 4 hours difference. We were going to have a BBQ dinner at our house but we have scrapped that idea and are now looking at hiring a restaurant for dinner. I feel like I'm falling behind but I think that is because we haven't given notice yet. Once we do that, we can start looking at vows and order of service etc. Pretty much the exciting stuff whereas it's just the formalities of it all at the moment.

We are 6 months too and yes it has come around quickly!! I don't seem to have done too much recently and your post has prodded me into thinking that it is only 6 months!!. There was a big flurry of activity last year when we made lots of the arrangements and I'm sure there will be again soon.

I know I'm tempting fate but everything has come together really well so far..... x

If I'm honest, I've probably been a bit too organised lol, a little bored now. Got no planning as such to do at the mo, it's all things I need to leave till a bit nearer the time, sorting the exact style of chair covers; choosing vows, sorting music (although know most of this already!) etc!

Just wondering what else I can do now, I'm back at the browsing stage really. Bought our cake stand today. The folks bought the bay trees yesterday (mum swore she will keep them alive for 6 months!).

Probably going to go quite again now until the 3 or 2 month mark when more final decisions will be made, venue coordination meetings and will be having hair trials etc

Glad we're all about the same!

Kirstie, I'm not sure if I took my passport to give notice cause it's out of date, I think I might just have taken my birth certificate??

Is anyone feeling nervous yet? My OH asked me that the other day and I'm not in the slightest bit - yet! I'm sure the closer it gets the more I will turn in to a nervous wreck!

OMG!!!! I would now be enjoying our dinner and drinking lots of champers as Mrs M!!!! ARGH!!!!!

We have done the big things.

Ordered BM dresses today with the Birmingham lady!

Invites going out at the beginning of April after a close friends wedding has gone.

Have taste testing booked for next week and then its starting to get all the little bits and bobs sorted. I've done table names but going to start doing the sweet tables decoration etc and my mum has to start sorting pew ends and things like that.

Still seems ages - wish it would hurry!!!!
