7th March 2009 brides... 4 months today!

Mrs Bloom, 7 November, 2008 at 12:25 Posted on Planning 0 18

Following on from nicandeuan's post about us all being page 3 girls now...?

Thought we could have a bit of a catch up thread, see how we are all doing with our planning.

How are you feeling about becoming a wife 4 months from today?!

I'm looking forward to sending my invitations out in a month, need to book the suits and that's all the big things done really. Might have to hire a dj after all, but can't find a good one who is willing to only play songs from my playlist!

All the big stuff is kind of done. Trying to sort out the chair covers this weekend.

It's mainly all finishing touches now I need to get like shoes and jewerly.

I am still waiting for OH mother to finish making the invites as I would like to get the day invites out at least by the end of the month.

The trouble with me is I've been so super organised I've not left myself much to do, so I keep 'inventing' things to do which always involve spending more money!

    ? ?

Well we are going to see the venue again next weekend for our first meeting lol. Still got to finish the invites that are lying in a box in the bedroom. Ribbon for the favours should be ready next week. Other than that there is very little left for me to do until after xmas when I can organise fittings, trials etc.

    Pretty organised me hopes thinks.

When are you planning on having a dress fitting? I've had my first one, but they want me to leave the next one til February, not sure of that is leaving it too late?

I have been measured for my dress, and it is due to come in end of Jan, so I guess my first fitting will not be until then. It's killing me not knowing what it is going to look like, I could go and try the sample dress on again but that was way to small and would make me feel sad again about my weight.

I'm having my first fitting at the start of February, because I am losing weight they want to leave it as late as they can. I will then have another 2 weeks later and my final one in the week before the wedding.

Oh I know that feeling well! It's especially hard when H2B keeps promising to invite people who were never even on the list!

    Hi 2b Mrs Lord,

Thought id quickly plug my company as i understand your sorting out chair covers for youe wedding. you can have a look at the site at www.reminisce-events.co.uk, we do chair covers and sashes in whatever colour you like. how many guests are you expecting?

Also, although i dont do DJing myself i have a reliable contact who will be more than willing to play your playlist, he is also quite reasonably priced, after all its your wedding.

If you are local to south london you may also want to see one of our preview shows, we have one coming up soon. Where is your venue?

    Take care and speak soon.

    Hi everyone,

    Mind if I join in too? We;re actually 28th February, but I don't think there's a list.

You're all very organised. We only booked about a month ago. Still don't have a photographer or a florist. H2B is off work 'til Wednesday and he reckons he can make all the invitations in 3 days - me thinks this might be a bit optimistic!

I've ordered my dress, but not too sure what it will look like at the back, as it was massive on me - it's quite plain though, so I'm sure it will be fine. BM dresses supposed to be here before Christmas.

We do have chair covers though as H2B was insistent we had them, so he's organised that. Do need to think about centre pieces for the tables though - not got very far with that one.

It's very close. How excited is everyone? I'm switching between excited and quite terrified! x

Hello!! we are pretty organised too, getting a nice list together of things to do in January, and am now busy trying to refresh and change my home instead of spending endless amounts of money on ebay on things I don't need for the wedding lol, I am trying to channel my creativity into the house instead!! Have rearranged my lounge and hallway and now see nice gaps for some nice pieces to finish my cosy/country look off lol (in my housing estate in Reading!!) so can go shopping for those gaps instead :-)

The only big thing left to do this side of Christmas is go to the tailors and sort out the mens suits. I know what I want, so we just have to try them etc and get all that organised. Finally got OH to agree to go on our next free weekend in a few weeks.

    Lol Clare xxx

It's such a nightmare isn't it - my OH seems to expect me to sort the suits out! I had thought that that might be the one thing that he would organise! I have no idea how I'm going to get all the guys to the tailor to get them all measured either...

Do what my H2B did, gave all the guys 4 weeks notice and arranged a day out at the pub after it ?. It didn't take much for them all to agree to go.

When do you have to go be measured for them, we have picked which ones we want and paid a deposit but not sure when the guys haven't to go.

Hi, we booked our suits a few months ago, but i only took my h2b and my dad, picked what we wanted and paid a deposit, then all everyone has to do is 8-6 weeks before wedding go and get measured, at their local store (males in wedding party live in north east, north west and midlands). Easy peasy ..... i hope! x

I'm 8th April, so 5 months for me...I am SO freaking out!! Have most major things sorted I think, but still feel like I have loads to do and not enough time to do it! I've still to order BMs dresses (hopefully by the end of the month), hair and makeup, order OH's kilt, sort out the guys kilts, our parents outfits, daytime music, send out invitations, sort out food and drink and probably loads more little fiddly things that I haven't thought of yet......I just don't feel mentally prepared yet, know what I mean?!
