8 Days to go and Dad's in hospital

Oh no that's awful......so sorry to hear your dad hasn't been well. I know its easy to say but try not to worry about it until you know for sure either way. Planning a wedding and having a sick relative are hard enough to deal with on their own, adding in additional stress without knowing for sure will make things so much worse. Hope things work out well for you ?

Thanks, I'm trying to keep busy to take my mind off it but its so difficult. He's having a CT scan today so hopefully we should know more later on

Thats terrible - so sorry to hear he is so ill. I'm sure the hospital will do everything that can to try and get him there.

Oh I'm so sorry, I hope he gets well soon. Try not to get yourself in a state over it though. What will be will be and if the worst happens and he can't make it then you still have to try to enjoy the day. Do you have a videographer? If your dad can't make it maybe you could watch the DVD with him?

OH no. I had a Pulmonary Embolus and had to stay in hospital, once they had stabilised me with Heparin I went onto Warfarin & was allowed home. As long as he is well in himself & they can stabilise his blood with Warfarin he should be allowed home.

I hope the CT shows there isn't a PE. But if there is then try and stay positive, he's going to fight to be at your wedding so I'm sure he'll be ok. Try not to focus on the "what if"s and take each day as it comes. Much love to you xx

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your dad recovers quickly and they can sort it with warfarin and he's there to share your big day. Have you got family that can bring him so he wouldn't be travelling alone?

Really sorry to hear about your Dad, it must be massive worry for you for both his health and your wedding day. I really hope he makes a quick recovery and i'm sure if the hopital know the situation they will do everything possible to make sure he can be there too!

Hi ladies, thanks for all your replies and well wishes. Dad had the CT scan this evening but no results until tomorrow as no Doctors around tonight. So hopefully we will know more in the morning. He's supposed to be going to have a stent fitted on Monday 3 days before the wedding to help him breathe easier so I'm hoping that can still go ahead. I talked to my Mum about cancelling and she said that Dad does not want me to do that and I'm worried that if I do cancel and he get's upset he will have another heart attack so it's a no win situation. Also with him being over 100 miles away I can't see him all the time. I will keep you all posted when I have any more news, thanks again for all your support xx

Hi girls, just a quick update. The Doctor has said it was a slight heart attack. They have changed his meds and they will do their rounds on Monday to see how he's getting on and when/if he can be discharged. Stil don't know if he will be able to make it. Only 6 days to go and feeling really fed up!

Oh hun... at least they know what it is...

I know its hard but try to be positive, 6 days is plenty of time... x

Hi girls, I find out tomorrow if my Dad's medication is working and when he will be discharged from hospital so please keep your fingers crossed for us! Only 4 days till we get married I'll keep you posted tomorrow, thanks for all your well wishes x

I've just seen this thread. I'm sorry you are having to deal with your dad being ill. I really hope the news is good and that he gets to make it to your big day. I know how hard it is when you have an ill parent so far away. Take care and have a big ?

Hi, just a quick update. Went to see Dad yesterday and he's not doing too bad. He should be discharged today all being well and if he feels like his he said he will be able to make it!!!!! Only 2 days to go xxx
