95 decibel sound limit

LuxuriousOrangeDiamonds67982, 14 February, 2019 at 14:00 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hello all!

My fiancé and I have found a venue we love, but they have a sound limit of 95 decibels. They do not currently have an actual sound limiter that would cut the music, but they could of course get one in the time before our wedding. Is this just far too low for a great fun band? Music is so important to us and we want a good dance!

Thanks so much!

    Hi,

If the venue doesn't actually have a functional sound limiter they probably have a hand held monitor that is checked occasionally through the evening. As this is usually done from the rear of the room it shouldn't cause any problems.

If it does exceed 95 db they would just ask to trim the volume a little.

There are many factors in sound limiters but an experienced band should have procedures in place to deal with it.
