A change of date.....Update

HatTrick, 22 November, 2009 at 00:06 Posted on Planning 0 15

I'm changing the date of my wedding. We are all booked up to be married on 4th September 2010. A few of you may remember my post a few weeks ago about my nan being ill, well we've decided to bring the wedding forward to Feb 2010 ? i hope with all my heart she will be there on the day.

I have no idea how I'm to afford it! But.... when we were looking for our venue we were stuck between two. In the end we went with the slightly cheaper one, which I have regretted ever since. (Their 'lake' has now disappeared, they assure me it is just being cleaned but I suspect that something dodgy is going on, and they are practically in the middle of a building site which they reassure me will be finished before September. They also don't have draft beer. My dad would NOT appreciate this)

So, I've sent an email to the other venue and I am praying that they have the date free!!!!!! Everybody cross you fingers for me please.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Well my dream venue is free on 27th Feb. I'm so excited, but also very nervous. 3 months time? Eek shall I change my ticker?? lol

Have to confirm with vicar yet but I'm sure that would be ok.

I am in shock.

Good luck with the new venue.

Its not unheard of for venues to 'mislead' brides over building work. We had a venue over here that convinced brides that they were just having a 'couple of toilets' added, and it turned out to be a major extension to the main function room with the grounds turning into a building site for months.

Moonpig I read the 1st line of your post and thought nooooooo, im losing my wedding twinnie. When I read further I totally understand your reasons for the change. My gran has just been diagnosed with emphysema and I'd be heartbroken is she wasn't there for my big day.

Fingers and toes crossed that your new date is available and you get the wedding you really want x

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Moonpig. Did they tell you that they were going to "clean the lake" ? I would have thought that they would leave it well alone at winter esp if theres fish in there!!

Feb - thats soooooooooooooo close xxx

Well I'm still waiting for their reply, if they haven't emailed back by lunch I might have to be a bridezilla and ring them ?

I have my dress, so that's the most important thing! I'm sure everything else can be done by Feb.

I know that if she's not there in September I would feel awful for not trying to bring it forward.

    Good luck and fingers crossed.

Don't worry - it can be done in February no problem. And if you already have your dress, then there's 2 of the big things done!
