A couple of stupid questions....

CountDuckula, 18 August, 2009 at 09:39 Posted on Planning 0 13

At what point during the day do I pin my train up and out of the way?

And when do I take my veil off? Or do I keep it on all day?

Told you they were daft ?

    Morin CD,

    How are you feeling?

I think concerning the veil, I proberly will be taking mine off after the wedding breakfast. Not sure if this is correct or not.

Then concerning the train, I think it will be done after the 1st dance. So its down for the pictures

    Good Morning

You could take your veil off at any time...keep it on all day if you want to. I will probably leave mine til my evening guests arrive so they can see the whole look! then take it off and pin up my train for our first dance....may take the train down again after that for pics!

Dont know if it helps...... just do what feels right at teh time

I've been wondering about my train and when to bustle it too... I'm arriving in a horse/carriage and later going in a little rowing boat- I wondered whether I should bustle it then to make it easier to get in and out of these transports.. or will i end up sitting on it all and creasing it? #

Im not have dancing later on really.. just a sit-down meal and a guitarist... will i even need a bustle hook/button?

Hi, not too bad thanks. Amd not nervous, just a bit in a daze really! You?

Right so train up for the first dance and veil whenever I want. Probably when it starts annoying me. Which might be before I even get down the aisle....

    These are daft questions!

Not sure about putting the train up think probably sometime during the evening or when I get peed off with people threading on it!! I think I'll take my veil off after we've had pictures taken as its a cathedral lenght veil and dont fancy having to sit on it during the meal...hope this helps...I don't think theres any set answer to your questions..

    Cheers Charlie x

I pinned mine up after the photos and before the meal.

Veil came off straight after the photos had been taken after the ceremony. Not the guests fault but every single hug i got yanked my head back. It came off before i lost the plot ?

    All sorted!

Actually one minute I think I am little nervous, its mostly when people are talking to me about it if you know what I mean. But It feels a little like it is happening to some one else to. As questions, or things are being said like this Saturday etc. But still sorting stuff out at home, h2b parents caravan is going tonight. Which is good news, saw the cake last night. Then the last major things are tomorrow night, final dress fittings. Then errors in suits being dropped off.

I have already been given cards so they are in a pile at home, and we have already had a couple of gifts to. Your right though a daze is the right word for it, but I am knackered. Tried to have an early night last night after a hot bath. It did not turn into early! But did virtually go straight to sleep. Will try earlier again tonight

Ps: last day in work us tomorrow Hurray!!!!!

I think I'm going to bustle my train straight after the photos. I want to wander round and talk to people during the meal which will just be easier if I don't have a train to worry about!

I forgot to find out if I could pull my train up, so I just left it down, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, but it was very short for a train anyway.

My veil came off halfway through the photos, as it was really windy outside, and it never went back on. In retrospect I wish I had put it back on inside for a but but hey ho.

I'm going to be removing my birdcage veil after some of the formal shots after the ceremony, so that I can have the best of both.

I would have thought you train would be hitched up after the wedding breakfast...when you start to mingle with your guests.
