A Feel good 'dress' story.....

juddtobe, 8 December, 2009 at 11:29 Posted on Planning 0

Hello ladies I just wanted to share this story with you, about how I found my wedding dress! It’s a long story, but I am a huge believer of fate and think that everything happens for a reason, so I’ll share my story and would love to hear other members’ similar stories. I’ve been engaged since end of July, and we are getting married next August. I’ve always had an idea of the kind of dress that I am after. Low back, straps, vintage and lace……….. I started my search, and didn’t really find anything that ticked all of the boxes. I was beginning to think that I’d have to make a compromise on my perceft dress, or even design it myself. One evening I was looking on Facebook and I saw an old work colleague of mine had posted some pictures of her brother’s wedding. Now I don’t really know her that well, and don’t know him at all, but something made me look at them. And when I looked through them the bride was wearing my dream dress. I loved it so much that I asked my old work colleague who designed the dress and where she got it from. A few days later and I trace down the dress make and shop she purchased it from. I booked an appointment at the shop on Saturday and went along with my bridesmaids to try it on. When I arrived I was told by the lady that the dress was last season and that it had been discontinued and that they did have one dress in that design left, but that was the only one. It was a size 10. Previously I have tried on sizes 10s which were too big and size 12s which were too small, so was quite anxious that it might not fit. I was also anxious that it might be too short……. I tried it on, it fitted me like it was made for me – the perfect size, the perfect length – the lady didn’t even think I’d need to alter it AT ALL! It was as if it had been designed specifically for me. The great news was that I loved it. The even better news was that it was in the sale and it was only £435!!!! Needless to say I am now the proud owner of my very dream Maggie Sottero dress!!!! It’s hanging up at my parent’s house and I couldn’t be more happy! Does anyone else have any feel good stories they want to share? xx
