A harp playing at the ceremony

lindsayj89, 30 April, 2012 at 14:40 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hello, i went to a wedding show the other day with one of my bridesmaids and saw this harp being played and absolutely love the idea and actually never thought of it until then. The women was offering £200 but £50 for travel expenses, would you say this is reasonable or does anyone know of a harp hire for a cheaper price in Devon?

Thanks for your help.

Lindsay xx

Hire how long is she playing for? We're hiring a harpist to play at our ceremony and wedding breakfast and we're paying £400 (we're getting married in Surbiton, London).

    Not sure if this helps!

I had a Harp and flute duo play in the church and then they also played through the wedding breakfast (5 hours worth I think) and it really was amazing. It sounded so beautiful. They were £400 for it all but that was in Wales.

    I would say it's a reasonable price

I have looked into various solo musicians and the going rate seems to be anything from £200-£500.

PS is it just me or is the font in the OP really hard to read?

I had a harpist at my ceremony, although this was in Sydney, so the prices arent comparable. She had a min 2hrs booking time. As the reception was very near the chapel, she continued playing there whilst the guests had drinks & canapes (before the DJ started).

Check whether you have to book a min amount of hours, & if so, get your moneys worth like I did.

We're having a harpist play at ceremony & drinks reception for £250 so this seems reasonable to me
