Surely not otherwise noone - tourists, etc - would be able to take pictures? Is this for something specific (Some events, concerts, etc for example may only allow press to take photos)?

No its for taking pictures of us on our wedding day at a local park on route to the recpetion venue..

We'll be stopping for about 10-15 mins as its only the bridal party but wondering if I need a license or something....

It will be late afternoon so should be okay but im being a worry pot!

Im sure someone will come along with a definitive answer, but I think you're worrying excessively! ?

As an example (/dirty example), when I was at Uni we used to go mapping rocks in the countryside in all kinds of places. We'd often be out early and once saw a nude photshoot going on at the local waterfall...am sure they didnt have a licence! ? Destroyed my innocence, that did...

Hi Karen I don't think so - in fact I think its the other way round - ie you need permission to take pics on private property/shopping centers/train stations/tube etc.

Technically, if its a royal park there might be issues.....although I have previously done shoots in these without problems.

As Peter said,, it's possible if it's a Royal Park. We have had to pay many times to shoot in certain parks. The permit fees vary. If it's a park that does require you to pay for a permit, they will want to know the times you are shooting,, and how many people will be involved. We were told once by a very unfriendly person in charge, it's because photographers running around ruin the parks for others. The day we shoot after being told this, my client was nearly run over by a group of small kids on bikes. Ho humm

It's usually when there is to be a professional photographer involved that they inforce permits and licenses. Lately, we've even expirenced this at some places that owned by the council. If it's on a wedding day, it's hard to be inconspicuous, and you could be stopped and asked to show your permit. Especially if there are alot of people with you.

I don't know the park in question, but it never hurts to find out for sure. I know alot of photographers ignore this, and shoot anyway, but on someone's wedding day, I don't want to chance it, so I always check ahead of time to be on the safe side.
