A little morning moan!

cannotbelieveit, 28 September, 2010 at 09:34 Posted on Planning 0 6

I really don;t know what the point of inviting people to a wedding is! Why do I think this:

- people can't be bothered to reply to invites

- people confirm their attendance and then pull out

- people can't be bothered to read the invite and continually ask you what time the wedding is, where it is etc.

- people can't be bothered to organise themselves and continually ask where they can stay - you are grown adults, please sort this yourselves!

- people start trying to invite those who are not invited - with less than 2 weeks to go, I have been asked if a friend can bring her boyfriend of 1 month along!

Moan over. I'm not going to let it ruin my good mood!

Oh dear I have all this to look forward to. I have already got annoyed at my brother for asking me about suits fittings, what the plans the night before are and where we are all staying etc. What am I going to be like when I have 100 guests asking me about timings and where to stay etc!

Take a deep breath before responding to each complaint/request/drop out etc and just try and remember these people probably dont realise how much stress they are causing you! But knowing me I'd probably just snap at them and tell them to b*gger off!

    Have a ?

    xxxx

I might get people to RSVP to my mum so I don't have to deal with any of this, haha!

Hehe this did make me chuckle - I could have written the exact same thing!

I sent out invites in March for our October wedding, it is now 33 days away and there are some people who still haven't RSVP'd (I know through other people they aren't coming now)

Several people declined as they 'may' be busy or 'might not' get a babysitter that night, without even bothering to try!

The best man has asked just this week actually what date the wedding is again, and then mused that it might clash with him having to go to the Phillipines for work (at this point I nearly strangled him) but it doesn't clash phew.

We arranged back in January for the bridesmaids to all come in the limo with me to the venue..now they are in a strop demanding that I sort out how they are going to get home as their cars won't be there (have they not had 9 months to arrange a lift?)

One of H2B's friends who we invited to the evening only, called H2B and said actually I want to come all day and bring my partner, and also bring 4 old school friends all day (who H2B hadn't invited and hadn't seen for 30 years). H2B just agreed with him and I had to tactfully tell the friend that meals were allocated for friends and family and we were not paying extra for people he wouldn't even recognise and who weren't invited!

    Grrrrrrr!

Lol it will all be worth it in the end x

You are right Nearly Mrs J - it is so utterly rude! What happened to people's manners?!
