A multitude of questions.....

MrsDicken2b, 24 September, 2010 at 18:26 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi!

I've been starting to work out whats needed on the wedding invitations and due to this I have a few questions...

Do you put the actual time of the wedding on the invitation or do you put the time you wish for them to arrive?

Also I'm providing buses for them to get to the church from the reception venue. Do I instead put that time on invitation or include that information on a separate sheet.

Are any of you good at wording, as I'd like to put about providing transport due to lack of parking at church and due to this they need to let us know whether they'll be using the provided transport and to bring there invite with them. So we don't end up with complete strangers using the buses.

Also is it alright doing the invitations from us instead of our parents even though they are both helping. We think it is probably too much to put both sets on there.

What other information do I need to provide?

Thank you all for your help

You can add a lot of info about the transport on the rsvp and maybe ask them if they need to use this service.

It definitely should'nt go on the invite itself.

As for timings, the time it will start is fine.

We put 2.15 on the invitations when the ceremony actually started at 2.30 which worked pretty well as most people were there in plenty of time (with some dashing in just at 2.13) but one couple arrived about 2.20pm and nearly didn't come in as they thought it would have already started.

I have seen invitations since then which say "guests to be seated by 2.15pm for 2.30 ceremony" which covers all bases!
