A new edition to the Twiga household

Twiga, 25 September, 2013 at 15:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 32

Hello!

So I've been a bit AWOL over the last week, mainly because I've had my hands full with Brucie - our new doggy, and best pal (most of the time) to George our red setter. Unlike George, we rescued B, and golly is he a lot of work. We're getting there though, and he is a cutie! Quick flash of my gorgeous men, if I may?!

Awww bless, Brucie is gorgeous. Hope he hasn't got too many issues because of being rehomed, but he's in good hands now and I'm sure George is happy to have a new best pal!

Aaaw thanks, I love them sooo much! I made the 'mistake' of going with a friend to the RSPCA as she wanted to rescue a dog but hasn't had one before etc. I actually found the whole experience a bit crummy - they were so condescending towards my friend, not at all constructive, and she basically felt like poop for wanting to rehome a dog.

Anyway, poor experience aside, whilst I was in the waiting room Brucie was brought back to the RSPCA by a couple who had adopted him 5 days before. He is quite an old boy and has a terminal illness (not that you would think it at the moment). He had been at the centre for 18 months on and off ? and everytime he had been returned as he pulls so much on the lead (literally drags people over). Anyway I felt so sad for him, I asked if I could take him out and, well, it would appear I have arms of steel! A visit from H/George and a home inspection later, he was ours! I just want to give the chappy a happy last few years.

So far hew has destroyed: our sofa, the back seat of the car, 5+ towels, a shoe, one of my bras and some bedding. And has stolen a SERIOUS amount of food. Oh and has eaten H's one and only suit - I just bunged it back in the suit bag and I'm hoping he wont notice for a while ?

    I adore him!

They look like they're having a good gossip about the neighbours! They are getting on so well - even cuddling up at night time which is just adorable. However, the stick stealing must stop, Brucie needs to learn this is poor etiquette! Luckily George is ridiculously laid back. Oh gush, ❤️ them

Hmm.. he frequently gives us looks of disgust for being shabby! A bit on the pompous side me thinks - Brucie will toughen him up! Sorry for being flash-mad but this is another gorgeous one snapped a few secs ago (last one promise!) I can't believe how well they are getting on. Have painted over SIL's head...

Flash your lovely pets to make up for my over-indulgence, you know you want to!!!

Aw bless you for giving this lovely boy a home. Sounds what he's been waiting for. Hopefully George can show him the way a little bit!

I hate the RSPCA. Some work they do it good, but mostly they are useless. Why on earth were they horrible to your friend?!

What lovely looking dogs. George looks like he's introducing Brucie to the surroundings in the last picture of them looking over the wall. I sympathise with the chewing. When Beau was younger he ate two sofas (burying his toys inside them) and a kitchen floor

Hello brucie! Very cute. I have you tried him on a halti that should really stop him pulling, it may take him a few days to get used to.
