I've been pondering this and don't understand. If I was trying to loose weight and needed to eat 1500 calories a day in order to do that, but I decided to loose 1000 calories a day and my weight loss stalled, could it be because I'm not eating enough?
We were told that if someone doesn't eat all of the food they're allowed and their weight loss stalls we shouldn't tell them to eat more because most people are trying to loose weight because they have eaten too much! Their arguement being that people that are extremely thin are thing because they don't eat enough food, they don't put on weight.
So can someone please explain the science behind all of this for me please? I thought if I needed 1500 and ate 1000 I'd not only be hungry but I probably wouldn't loose any weight to start, then I would do but it'd be very unhealthy, I'd be lethargic and generally miserable. Oh and also when I did go back to normal eating I would put loads of weight on!
Just trying to work out what I can say to people, rather than eat more, if they're not eating all they should. Hope that makes sense!
