A really "WOW" wedding dress?

I am getting rather frustrated at wedding dress shopping - I have been one of those girls who dreamed of her wedding day all her life and imagined an amazing dress but I am just not finding it anywhere! I want something different, and a real wow/statement dress - but not quite as far as My Big Fat Gypsy wedding! Can anyone recommend any designers/dresses or flashes of your own dresses that are like that maybe? Everything I have seen is too 'elegant/simple' etc, and whilst I obviously want to look nice, I want something that makes people go 'wow!' (in a good way!) The closest I've seen/tried on to a wow dress are pronovias/Ian Stuart but still not really seen what I want (although have only so far had a chance to try on a few pronovias dresses and have an appointment at their store in a few weeks!) I would like quite a big train (rather than a princess style ballgown which is big all the way around). white and preferably corsetted top part and not fishtail/body fitting below the waist as I'm pear shaped and it does not flatter me if it is tight all the way down... also really want it to be something different - such as the pronovias dresses with feathers perhaps?

Any suggestions/pictures/ideas??

(Thank you so much in advance!) ?

It's by Olivia Faye and called Vanilla in case you want to see other pics, a shop in Colchester stocks it and my mum's already put it at the top of our list of places to visit!

See this is where I'm actually very confused, as if you google a designer called Beverly Lister, this dress is on her site.

Ive emailed both of them as I am soooooo confused.

I get the impression it's gonna be at the top of my dress budget though. Sigh.

ooohhh, interesting. Even more interesting is that the dress on the Beverley Lister site is actually called Faye lol.

I wish there were prices on sites instead of falling in love with something and then realising you can't afford it when you get to the shop.

That Lhuillier one at the top of the page is in the $7000-$20000 bracket, that is mental!!

I know, it's so odd isn't it. I will let you know when I've had replies to my emails.

I have asked for prices...no point in me travelling up to Colchester if it's way over my budget. I'm guessing about the £2.5k mark though ☹️

Apologies OP for derailing the thread.

Have you looked at the Justin Alexander site...he has some beauts.

Have you thought about getting a dress made?

I felt too restricted by designs and it wasn't really what I wanted so I found an excellent dress maker and she is making me exactly what I want.

It's going to be about the same cost as getting a dress from a shop.

    Good Luck x

    Hi,

My daughter is having hers made by a lady who has lovely designs and will make whatever you want. She is in Norwich and called Love Couture.

My daughter, like you wanted something diffferent and between them they came up with an amazing design!

    Hope that helps

Mine was a Jonathan James Couture and had a big skirt and train... worth a look at his?

If you want something to cover your shoulders/straps, you could have a lace/chiffon overlay made?

Yes I've thought about it but it wouldnt work for me - I don't know enough of what I want and I just dont think I would trust anyone enough (as you have to commit/pay them before youve seen the finished article or tried it on) and I don't want to take the risk!
