A request from WTP -

He's asked me to ask you lot, as you are the font of all knowledge, how to get cat piss out of leather?

We forgot to bring the litter box back in from the garage when we went away this weekend, and the cats (bless them, tidy buggers) weed on the leather beanbag, nicely containing their wees to the one spot. It was a puddle in the folds of said bean bag, which WTP has cleaned with Flash, but apparently it still smells of cat wee.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted x ?

Bio washing powder is what we have used on the carpet for dog wee. I can't see that a weak solution would damage leather but try a small patch.

It sounds like it may have seeped through the leather to the innards. Can you remove the inner bag and wash it / air it / febreeze it numerous times?

I'd try white vinegar, or baby wipes. They clean everything between them usually.

Has he been to http://www.remove-cat-urine.com/ ?

They have some suggestions. I've also seen white vinegar or tea tree oil touted as solutions.

Hydrogen peroxide from the chemist - it's the same type of peroxide you use to bleach hair

This is OBviously not helpful but I can’t help but be impressed by some cats and how they try desperately to keep everything tidy! I have 2 litter trays for my 2…but if for some reason they are full or we are away, they poo in the bath!!!! Always, without fail. Never behind the sofa, or in the bedroom…always in the bath. Bless…

Following on from Janjabean.....The only time that ours have "soiled the house" is when OH forgot to put litter in the litter tray when he cleaned it out (this is the only time that he's cleaned it!), so the cat pooed in the ash in the fire place....I was impressed! Thankfully our little angels are old enough to have mastered the pooing and weeing outside now.

Hope that the piss smell fades soon!
