Aaargh! Save me from my own obsessive behaviour

elemden, 1 April, 2015 at 23:23 Posted on Planning 0 3

With 24 days to go and holiday time on my hands I am starting to have the craziest ideas about what I need to do in the coming weeks. Today's mad plans have included:

1. Trip to Bicester Village to try on and possibly (hopefully?!?) buy a pair of Jimmy Choos, even though I have lovely wedding shoes already. I did actually drive an hour and a half to Bicester but it was all closed due to a big fire in one of the restaurants.

2. Get the tattoo I have been planning for the last year. If I could even get an appointment in the next few weeks I want a big leg piece done to a neo-traditional style that needs designing around the sources I have been collecting for over a year (based on There is a light that never goes out- Smiths). There is still a stupid stupid part of me that thinks this is possible before the wedding especially reading the thread last night about tattoos!!! I need to stop...

3. Having given up on the tattoo, I now move to obsessing over the thread veins on my left cheek which I am self-conscious about and worry that the MUA won't be able to cover. I have now researched the treatment I want but keep telling myself a cosmetic procedure with 3 weeks to go would be another truly stupid move.

I've possibly got a bit tooooooo much time on my hands

Oh dear! Take a deep breath and relax! Maybe if you need to do something, try something constructive like writing a list of the things you need to remember on the day, or get all your stuff together and take some photos, or think about what colour to paint your nails. You don't need crazy expensive shoes, and you certainly don't need a half finished leg piece that itches/peels on your wedding day !! As for your make up artists, they are amazing, mine covered my huge black circles under my eyes so a few little veins will be nothing. Chill out, you're nearly there. Read a book or something if all else fails!

Thanks MrsShep. I am listening to the Cumberbatch read 'Ode to a Nightingale' on repeat to drown out H2B's snoring, very soothing voice that man has!

I have a coffee date and a lunch date tomorrow which should keep me out of mischief. I may still go and visit the tattooist tomorrow afternoon with a view to getting it done before summer.

It is best you perhaps leave the tattoo at this stage due to the healing time and that the skin may be itchy and dry as it heals especially as it can take between two and four weeks to stop flaking.

Understand the shoes though - when best to justify a pair of Jimmy Choos moreso than your wedding day. But think of the money you will save for your honeymoon in shared trips and meals.

I have put all three to bed. I already have shoes I love so I have to stop looking. I am going in to see a tattooist I have found 2 miles from home but I think I might look to having it for summer instead. The thread veins are just going to have to wait...concealer is my friend!
