Accessories

Mrs-S-to-be, 17 June, 2014 at 15:24 Posted on Planning 0 18

Where have all you girls bought your accessories from? Not sure if this has been done but thought it might be useful to have somewhere to have everyone's - I'm now thinking about accessories and have spent the last couple of hours looking at veils and tiaras, so would be nice to know what comes recommended/who has found a good bargain/who to avoid!

I got my sparkly head pieces for me and my girls from olivier laudus. they're not cheap (i only bought mine there because i became friends with him and his wife and was given a discount) but the quality was brilliant and everything looked amazing on the day.

there are TONS of places re sparkles though- so many people seem to recommend glitzy secrets so that's probably a good one for any bride to try!

I bought a handmade tiara from The Tiara Company on Etsy, and I love it!

My tiara is from debenhams on one of their discount days. I didn't want to spend a lot so only cost about £40 and I'm ordering a veil online from a company called wedding veils direct. My jewellery is borrowed so saving some pennies there!

I ordered my veil from wedding veils direct too and got an email today saying it has been shipped so it is winging its way to me as we speak - very exciting!

Am stumped about other accessories though - have bought various things online from debenhams, etsy but didn't like any of them when they turned up. Problem is not having a clue what I actually want...!

I used Lisa. She worked with me to adapt her designs to suit an existing necklace I wanted my other accessories to compliment. Communication was excellent, she sent me regular updates and photos, and the whole process was very quick. The quality of the finished items is great. I'd highly recommend her.

Another vote for Debenhams - ordered my hair clip, necklace and earrings from there and they are beautiful. I went wi the designer Alan Hannah, they are so perfect for a wedding though I was worried I'd only be ever to wear them on the day, but a friend has suggested I wear them each anniversary to ensure I get taken to a posh place to wear them!! Ha, ha xx

Debenhams are great and have some lovely affordable pieces.

I went to Hermione Harbutt in Bristol as accessories are my thing. Have £10 shoes, no veil and own makeup and hair to allow the splurge!! She is lovely and made a hair piece and a pair of earrings for me based on my own personal style. Big earring wearer here!

Highly recommend if you have the cash!

My jewellery is all vintage, as is my bag. But I plan to get my hairband from a Canadian company on Etsy called Wedding Headband.

I got my tiara from Debenhams, as others have mentioned reasonably priced. I got my veil from 'the wedding veil shop' and am really pleased with it - customer service was very good, I paid extra to get it within 7 days but when I spoke to them they said they can do it quicker if needed and I received it within 3 days. Tried it on with my dress today and it was just what I wanted - I wasn't sure about a veil as didn't want to hide the back detail on the dress but it is really delicate so looks pretty without hiding the detail. Bit more expensive than some of the other online places but much more reasonable than bridal shops!

I used Chez Bec. I brought a bracelet from there and loved it so had them make me a customized tiara too. Really fab service and I received drawings and photos as it was being made.
