accessories *flash* opinions please

dlees81, 31 January, 2012 at 12:14 Posted on Planning 0 11

Went to try out all my stuff with my dress at the weekend to have a choose and see how they go together. In fact I was prepared for not all of it to go, but both my bestie and the shop owner said I should go with all of it, having seen it all on, but I'm still not so sure.

I will probably have my hair at least half down, and please excuse the ill fit of the dress, that will be sorted at a later date. The straps are meant to sit just on the ends of my shoulders, but edged up as I was faffing- mental note for the day, let the others faff me!

Anyway, I still think there's a bit too much going on here, but not sure what to let go of- veil, side tiara, earrings or necklace. The veil made the most difference, it's my best friend's and I really felt transformed (in the best way) on putting it on. I think my least favourite bit is the side tiara, but I feel I should have something up there to give some extra illusion of height! And to break up my dark hair.

What do you think?

I think the tiara is lovely and the veil is clearly something that makes you feel special, however personally i would not go with the necklace, your dress has some nice detail in the top and it would be a shame to overwhelm it with the neclace you have on, if you want a neclace I would go for something it a bit smaller maybe xx

I really wouldn't bother with the necklace, it doesn't look ridiculous by any means but I think less is more especially with the detail on the bodice. Are you having your hair down? If so I would definitely leave the necklace.

I think, if you get rid of anything, it should be the necklace. It's quite... big... if you know what I mean. Do you have anything a bit more dainty you could wear?

Love the detail on your dress and i personally think the necklace is too much. Try your hair up so you can see more of the dress and maybe also try different tiaras etc.

Yep, what the other's have said. The necklace doesn't seem to go & appears too big. I'm drawn to that rather than your face or dress. However do note that I'm not a necklace girl, so go with your gut instinct.

I with the majority on the necklace, think it overpowers everything else. Tiara and earrings look fab.

I also agree the necklace is too heavy for the dress, everything else is good

Firstly, you look great and whatever you feel comfortable with is the most important thing. If you feel it is too much, I would agree with what has been said re the necklace. I think the one you have on it a little heavy. If you really want to wear a necklace, I would get a very fine chain with a very simple pendant, maybe just a single pearl or a crystal or 2 but you really don't need it.

Another alternative is to have a pretty and simple bracelet.

I agree with the others that the necklace is maybe a bit too heavy. Mainly because you are lovely and slim and the necklace just looks a bit too big. If you aren't too sure about the side tiara then I'd suggest a hairband that would give you a bit of detail all over instead of the side detail. This Hitcher had her hair half up and it looks similar in length to your own.

I don't even think you need a necklace at all, and I love necklaces personally, but because of the straps and the detail on the dress you don't need anything else really. x
