Advice need- paranoia setting in

firobb, 18 November, 2008 at 13:50 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a wee spot of advice which I hope you might be able to help with.

Firstly- has anyone heard of a band booking agency called XS Promotions, based in Scotland? I've booked a band with them, but realise that I although I have signed their T&Cs and sent a deposit cheque, I don't actually have anything signed by them. Paranoia is setting in, and I have nagging doubts that this might be a scam and actually I don't have a band booked. I, of course, could just be going a little mad, and everything is absolutely fine!

Secondly- I'm getting married in July next year, and although I am pretty calm about everything (my Mum has taken on the majority of organising) my skin seems to be playing up. Does anyone know of any good products to use, for now and for preparation for the big day?

Thanks!

    Hi and welcome,

I have never heard of them but checked their website and they do have some bands that I contacted when I was trying to book someone. What band is it you have booked? Have you tried contacting XS and asking them for some kind of confirmation? There is a phone number on their website you could try.

I'd give them a call before worrying.

I would do the same - if they have quite a few known-bands then its likely that they are reputable.

    Hope you get it sorted.

    Hi -

Yes - don't worry - give them a call. They have a good few reputable bands on their books by the looks of it - They are also members of the Agents assoc. of Great Britian which is definately not a scam, so you should rest assured.

You should ask them to return your copy of the contract which is signed by both YOU AND THEM for your records.

Let us know how you get on

    best

    Tony

Wow- quick responses from everyone! Thanks

I'm not hugely worrying but I will definitely give XS a call, and maybe the band as well.

My fiance Tom and I are getting married July 2009 in sunny Dundee.

I've been semi staying away from this site as the countdown towards the wedding everytime I log in was beginning to freak me out- but the forum has been pretty useful.

Plenty of water, fruit and healthy snacks like carrots (surprisingly sweet) instead of chocolate/biscuits for me - can you work out food or stress triggers and try to avoid them? Also Bio-oil is very good for putting on at night and blending blemishes in (plus it doubles as rather nice massage oil!) N x

Yep- a flare up of spots. Am trying to drink lots of water and have successfully managed to cut down on the crisps/biscuits etc. Will just keep going with that then and hopefully it will calm down.
