Advice Needed

Lucy137, 12 March, 2010 at 17:45 Posted on Planning 0 8

We are getting married at a country house which we have hired for monday to friday. we sent out save the dates last months with reply cards as we need to know who would like to stay for the week (each person is paying to stay) i ordered some postcards from vistaprint to send out at a later date along with further information for the people that are staying.

they arrived this morning and are great quality etc but now i am unsure on the wording.

wish i had said something more like "we are really pleased you can join us for our wedding at 2pm at XXXXX Hall on 1st February 2011"

i think the wording "looking forward to seeing you at our wedding on....." makes it sound like we wont be seeing them beforehand if you know what i mean??

Honest opinions please, am i just thinking about it too much and should i stop worrying (this is what h2b is telling me) or should i re-order with different wording???

thanks in advance.

Hmm... having read it properly...I think the postcards look great, but I do see what you mean - could you perhaps send them with a sheet which gives all the info about the staying over?

    I love the postcards.

I can see what you mean about the wording.

I think it depends on how you are sending them. Are you sending them before your invitations or after? Or are you not having invitations?

I suppose although I prefer the 'new' wording which I think sounds warmer than the original wording I am sure your guests would read nothing into it, I know if I received it I would not think anything about it. I am sure most people know they will see you this year and not have to wait almost 12 months to see you again. So you are probably worrying about nothing on that score!

I think the wording is absolutely fine. The cards are very nice.

Yeah, that is what we will be doing as we will be sending them to 1) people who are just coming to the wedding, 2) people who are coming and staying for the wedding night (along with a letter/info sheet saying what time you can get there etc) and 3) people who are staying for the full week (along with a letter/info sheet saying what time to arrive and maybe plans for the week etc)

i was more worried that it sounds like we wont be seeing them in the months between sending them out and the wedding if you know what i mean?

    (im such a worrier!!)

Ah right - in that case I think your current wording is fine - I don't think it does look like you won't be seeing them in between. The cards are lovely just chillax!

Funkydiva, we are not sending invitations (decided there wasnt really much point as everyone already knows about it and will have paid to stay, booked time off work etc)
