Advice needed re evening.6 weeks to go and only just realised.......

Aykay, 16 June, 2014 at 23:20 Posted on Planning 0 4

I have given no thought to what happens about chairs and tables for the evening? Will the venue put extra out for the evening guests? I am planning on hiring chairs rather than having chair covers.......should I have ordered enough for evening guests or wont it matter that venue chairs are completely different? If you are having chair covers did you order them for evening guests too? Also, what about centrepieces? Arrgggghhhhhhh how did I not think of this before?

    Breathe!!

Normally you need less chairs for the evening as the venue normally remove some to make space for the dance floor. if they remove a few tables then those centrepieces can be used in the buffet table or gift table

You dont need extra seating for the evening! You probably need to do the opposite and clear some away! Not everyone will be seated, some will be dancing, some will be hanging out by the bar, or just exploring your venue and the grounds. Dont waste extra money on more seating, it probably wont be used!!

Having worked over 100 weddings I can assure you you do not need extra chairs. Some people leave early most will be dancing, some sitting outside or at the bar or just standing and chatting. You will not be short of chairs. As for centre pieces, well the venue staff can just take them off the tables they move out the way and use put them on the bar and the tables left out, also make the venue look pretty with lots of candle light. Do not worry those are small details that don't need thinking about xx

Thanks all. Thought people would want to sit to eat though.

They might but if it's a buffet or something like that not everyone will eat at the same time. Also if you are feeding your day guests they may not eat at all.
