Advice on Valuing Furniture

Meep, 10 March, 2009 at 11:38 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

I'm bashing my head off a brick wall here ? and wonder if anyone can help/advise.

I'm moving overseas in a couple of months and am downsizing and selling off a lot of items. I have a large, bespoke dining table that was given to us as an engagement gift about 7 years. Unfortunately the relative that gave us it is no longer with us and I can get no information on its value, makers etc. It was definitely not cheap and I don't want to under/over value it. Any dealers I have contacted won't even look at emailed pics as it is a 'modern' item.

Can anyone advise on how to get a value for it? I am completely stumped TBH and maybe I have it all wrong and it will be worth £50 max Smiley smile

    Hi

Go to your local Auctioneers and ask someone to value it for you.

    Try:

You know, for some reason I've only thought down the line of antique auctioneers. My brain has been that bogged down I'm totally over-complicating things.

    Thanks!
