Advice please

sarahl79, 25 March, 2009 at 17:57 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi all,

Going to try on wedding dresses for the first time tomorrow, taking my Mum and one of my bridesmaids - I've lost 2.5 stone (with 1.5 to go) and just under 18 months until wedding - any/ all advice welcome...

Going with an open mind and planning on wearing big pants and a strapless bra... anything else I should know/ do?!

Thanks in advance

Sarah

    Hi Sarah

Sounds like you have got the right idea, I didn't take anything else with me. I found my dress in the first shop I went into, it was the third dress I tried out of 13!! The best thing to do is to try every different style as you really don't know what will suit you until you put it on. The dress I am having is nothing like I'd ever imagined, I don't even like the picture of it on the model (it doesn't help that she is wearing it in pink and I'm having ivory) but I love it when it is on me. Out of the 13 dresses I tried only 2 didn't suit me, all the others looked gorgeous but there was only one that felt like it was mine!!

Just enjoy the experience and make the most of it.

    Have fun x x

Make sure you take some bottled water as you get quite hot trying on all the dresses, also maybe some deoderant x

Don't get disheartened if you feel that nothing fits even if you are trying on your size. they all seem to be made a lot smaller than normal UK sizes.

I bought the first dress I tried on but still tried on a load more just to be sure - and was enjoying myself too!

Keep an open mind the one dress you think you want might not end up being 'the one' so try on loads of different stlyes.

    PS Enjoy it!!
