Advice RE Suits

BespokeTailor, 23 April, 2009 at 11:56 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi All,

Since we now have a chromosone segregated forum, I thought I would drag my XY's over here.

I would like to offer my expertise and advice in any matter regarding to suits for your wedding day.

You are welcome to post here or send me a message, I will reply in due course.

Thank You

&

Kind Regards

Marc

That's how it is done over on WP. Here on the testosterone forum things are slightly different. ?

Ooh, jack bunneys? My h2b wants his suits from there! But we're not entirely sure which one it is from the website?

To be honest, he saw it at a wedding fayre and am not sure if he'd recognise it again Smiley atonished!

    Hi!

Which wedding fayre was it? I have pictures of most of the wedding fayres that we attend, just in case someone can't quite rememeber the outfits we displayed.

    Thanks

It was at the Brentwood centre on about the 28th Feb / 1st March maybe. The Essex FM one!

Don't think he actually spoke to anyone as we got pounced on by the Smooch rings people opposite you (!) but there was a suit on show there that he really liked and we took a brochure. It was black (bet this is really helping... Smiley laugh) and had a tie, not a cravat or bowtie. God, so descriptive of me! But in my defence, it was a long time ago and other such excuses... ?

I was there! That was a busy weekend wasn't it!

We don't do the whole pouncing on people thing, We try to be a little more chilled out. ?

I know the suit you mean it was the 'Worcester' range. Which got its debut at that show. It has been amazingly popular ever since.

    I hope this helps him,

    Thanks

That's the one! He liked it as it was on the far right with the gold tie. I remember now I've seen the photo as we're planning on having gold bridesmaids and thought it was perfect for our plans. Thanks very much for that! Will it still be available next year? We're getting married next August... I shall tell him to ask for you when he makes an appointment though.

It was blooming busy there! It's the only wedding fayre we've been to so nothing to compare to but you couldn't move for people and was so hot!

    Thanks again! ️⭐️

The style will be available for next year. In fact I am looking to increase the range with more colours and different styles. I would advise booking early for August. Our shop is different to most other suit places in that we book things 6 months in advance.

He is of course more than welcome to ask for me. If he reminds me that you are a Hitcher I will make sure he gets a special discount.

Just out of interest Bespoke are you suits partial bespoke or fully bespoke?

Family business was Saville Row tailors - civil and military - until my mum sold up 15 years ago.

Just intersted in how much input your customers get into the design of their suits.

    I cannot spell.

    Hi,

    ?

    We offer 2 services.

    1. Full bespoke. Hand-Cut and fully hand-made (including hand padded collars and hand made button holes etc.) https://www.jackbunneys.co.uk/Hand_Made_Suits.htm

    2. Made-to-measure. Made in a factory in Germany, by Odermark. https://www.jackbunneys.co.uk/Made_To_Measure_suits.htm

Our customers will have input of every single step of the process, including style and fit.

I don't suppose you are any good and making bespoke waistcoats? We could do with a new waistcoat maker (but we need someone who works to bespoke standards)

Question for Mr B Tailor ?, do you know anywhere which make formal shirts for a reasonable price. We are looking for something green (sage/pastel) with a white print on - floral or patterned, but we can't see anything on the high street...or that looks formal enough.

It is to go with a linen/silk mix suit so the shirt would need to be quite structured otherwise OH will look saggy!

    Thanks ?

Sometimes I am just rubbish. ☹️

The one time someone asks me a question I am away on holiday.

Sorry for the delay in response. I am suitably ashamed of myself. ?

Anyway Made-To-Measure shirts. There are lots of places offering a made-to-measure shirt option. Each one will stock different fabric ranges so it may be a case of going round to a few and seeing what fabrics they have.

My own made-to-measure shirt service starts from £115.00 and goes up to £275.00 depending on the fabric. They are made in France and are a little more expensive than usual because of the Euro. We have about 150 fabrics but having just checked there is nothing there suitable. https://www.jackbunneys.co.uk/made_to_measure_shirts.htm

    Try Marc Wallace www.marcwallace.co.uk

For something more reasonably priced try these :

    http://www.austinreed.co.uk/fcp/content/madetomeasure/content

    https://www.marksandspencer.com/c/men/made-to-measure-shirts

    https://www.mangas.co.uk/

All of the above services I have heard good things about. Marks and Sparks is Fantastic value for money. My BIL had a shirt from Mangas and he said the service was excellent. And I recently saw a shirt from Austin Reed and it looked good.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    Thanks

    Marc
