Advise about pre-wedding day sleeping/hotel arrangements?

FelicityChaplin, 23 January, 2010 at 19:02 Posted on Planning 0 7

OK, I have a bit of a dilemma regarding the night before the wedding for me and H2B..

Firstly, we're getting married on a Saturday, and are booked into a place from the Friday night but obviously we can't stay there together on that night so what's the alternative? We're getting married 3 hours from home on the train, and need to be there the day before to book in, etc so one of us staying home isn't an option unfortunately.

Urgh, help?

Are any of your family or friends staying the night before too? Could one of you switch with someone for the night before?

Can you bunk up with someone? Bridesmaid? Sister? Friend?

    Hi

Were in a similar position as were getting married on a sat about 2 hours from where we live. Although weve decided were staying in the same room the night before the wedding I will be kicking him out tho at the crack of dawn to start to get ready (he is then gonna go to his best mans room)

Well I'm hoping that maybe his Dad will come down the day before as I haven't met him yet... ?
If that's the case then maybe he can stay with him and his partner if they get a suite?

OH's Dad is also bringing down his hired suit for the wedding day, so I guess it would make sense.

Could the hotel not of asked if you wanted to share the night before your wedding or gave you the option of separate rooms when you were booking?, is this an option even now?

I'm staying at my mums the night before, going to keep that tradition of not seeing h2b but I'm going to miss my ickle kitty kat ?

It's not a hotel, we're booked into a caravan at Haven for a week kinda as a pre-honeymoon.
I would just feel bad leaving him on his own in a town he doesn't know with no one around, and they don't do accommodation for one night.
Should've thought it through a little better tbh! >.<

Oooh!, I didn't realise it was a caravan!, sounds like good fun ?

Just make sure it's the biggest caravan they have on site and that way you can "avoid" each other for a few hours at least, how about one or the other going for a walk or a bite to eat so that the other can have a bath, get ready for bed and get into a really good book, will there be more than one bedroom?

Yeah, there's 2 bedrooms in the caravan, but only a shower unfortunately!
I reckon we could find a way to avoid eachother if we both spend the night there. Wouldn't be too hard as we'll probably both be out for most of the evening with our respective friends anyway.
    Thanks for the advise!
