Ah, sod it! ** Updated with flash **

MummyMoo82, 1 August, 2012 at 19:59 Posted on Planning 0 10

When I got my dress I was, of course, given lots of accessories to try withit to complete the look - including a veil. It looked great, but both Mum and I baulked at the cost £70ish) and we decided to leave it. I have since bought one cheapie from China (BIG stick out thing I re-sold on eBay fr a fiver which gave £4 profit!) and then I got a second hand one on eBay which was listed as ivory, but looks a bit more yellowy, enough that it does actually show). After looking on eBay and for sale etc, I give up and think I will just have to fork out the full price at the bridal shop, because nothing can compare to it. I wasnt even going to have one until I tried it on! Anyone else ending up buyin things they originally didn't want? I'm just hoping that I can sell it afterwards and get some of the money back.

(FYI it is a Richard Designs pearl & crystal veil)

I used wedding veils direct. Cost me about £30 and was lovely. Pics on link in my signature.

Loads of people have used Pink Margaret, paid a similar price and been thrilled too.

I used Margaret and was very shocked by how good mine is. She sends you samples as well so you can be sure its a good match. Do you want her email address?

    xx

Another recommendation for Margaret! She did me quite a simple veil but it's absolutely perfect and I know she's done more complicated veils for other Hitchers. I don't know anyone who's had a bad thing to say about her or her work.

So i the end I managed to get the veil I wanted for about £15 less than bridal shop. It's much softer than the 99p Chinese one I got on eBay (lol) and a better colour match than the second hand one I got on eBay (which was a bit yellow-y compared to my ivory dress).

Do excuse the topof my bra showing - not had first fitting yet so it's still a bit big
