Ahhh Hitchers I need help...

lolacp1, 12 March, 2011 at 19:11 Posted on Planning 0 19

Hello lovelies!

So today I went on a mega dress shop with my MOH which I though to be a pointless execise as I was convinced I was going to get the ELLIS 11132 dress

However we went to Celebration Village in Manchester and I tried on the Alfred Angelo 2020 and I was blown away!!

Now my help is that the Alfred Angelo 2020 has been discontinued and the dress avaliable in the shop is off the rack and 1 size too small... there is also only one left!!

My question.. What shall I do?? I LOVE this dress, its beautiful. But i fear I wont get it elsewhere in my size... its literally only one size too small and the seemstress said that if I dont loose the weight that she could take out the zip and put in a lace up back...

Also should the dress be cheaper with it being off the rack also??

Many thanks!!

I would have thought it being a sample it should be cheaper yes. But are you sure you want to buy a dress that is too small ? Couldn't you call round their stockists ?

Well it fits me everywhere except around the hips

    I'd say two max...

Also think the dress should be cheaper with it being a sample so will negociate a price too...

    Ahhh fabulous ladies!!

I'd only really need it in the the size above around the hips as it fits everywhere else!

Im going to speak to the manager tomorrow and hopefully get a bargin after my mum has seen it!

I really need the dress in a 14 but the dress is a 12

(im a 12 normally in dresses im just pair shaped!) x

I ordered my dress a size smaller. When the lady measured me she said i was in between two sizes. This was last November . I have lost 1 stone and 2lb since then. My dress should be in the end of April. I have found it a really good motivator but i did want to lose the weight anyway as it was left over baby weight (although that "baby" is now 3 lol).

    I would go for it.

What about wearing some of those 'suck in wonder pants' when you try it on again. That will give a smoother line over the hips & a better idea of how it will fit if you loose a little weight.

The other option is a boned corset, but I am told you need months of wearing such a thing to get used to it, but, it can take you in several inches.

Might it be worth ringing round some other dress shops to see if anybody else has one in the correct size?

have you tried googling the dress you want....there are lots of stockists near Manchester...perhaps ring them up see if they have the dress in stock in your size?

If you can alter it ok if its still to small I would go for it, but definitely think ringing round is a good idea as well.

Good luck and let us know with flash!!!!

I had this same dilemma tried on a dress I love in the shop then saw it online for less than half price in a size smaller. My weddings June 2012 so debated losing the weight but have now decided that I am going to leave the dress as I still have ample time and want to polong the fun of dress shopping

    Girls!

You never fail to help me in my time of need!!

I went back to see the dress today and it looked tatty and the owner was quite rude and reluctant to give a discount...

So am going to ring around and sort it out if anyone else has it!

Thanks you so so so so so so much x xx

    Heard good things

    Good Luck in your search
