When I was in the tube this morning there was a woman who was trying to read the newspaper I was reading. Nothing unusual in that except slightly annoying. A few minutes later when I turned my page I realised that her face was now literally about 3 inches from my paper (quite a task as I'm really short so that paper is placed quite low) trying to read the front page. So partly in shock I moved my paper and stared at her. She then said to me "you know there's nothing unusual for people to want to read the paper in the tube", to which I answered "there's a paper over there if you want one" (luckily there were some spares around), which she took.
AIBU for reacting negatively to this? Am I being rude or is she being a bit weird? I just want to be left alone on public transport ?
