AIBU -follow on to the lie in thread

Ok the longer this goes on the grumpier it makes me lol,

During the week my husband is up at around 6am, if its his turn to open up the office he gets up about 15 mins earlier as he has a thing about being late,he works 12 plus hours a day at the moment as he is an electrical estimator and has a lot of quotes in at the mo, anyway i digress,at the weekend he likes to have a lie in till about 8 maybe on a rare occasion he will stay in bed till 9, term time im up at 6.45 during the week and like to have that extra hour at the weekend, recently during the warm weather we have had the window open, the people over the back of us have 4 kids (nothing wrong with that as i have 4 too) all under 7 and every morning without fail (weekends and weekdays) the kids are in the garden playing on the trampoline screaming, shouting etc this I dont mind as i know full well kids have to play BUT AT 6AM one morning it was 5.45AM

Now call me a grumpy old fart but please dont you think its a bit early to let your kids rampage about

does this mean we have to sleep with all the windows shut if we ever have a summer

Are your neighbours people you could approach? Noisy kids before 8am is very off IMO (and inconsiderate before 9!). 5.45am is taking the piss.

I have been guilty of releasing my children into the garden on a hot weekday morning at 7.30am, but 5.45am/6am is taking the bloody piss. I'd have the right hump.

Not being unreasonable. Once I would let it go but if its a regular thing I would be having a word. No way would i sleep with my window closed for that.

Anything before about 8am on a weekend is definitely antisocial imo, especially if it involves trampolines. I would have a word with them.

Definatly not a one off, its every bloody morning , scream shout squeak (trampline noise) laugh, shout squeak,

its infuriatingly maddening, it took me years of gentle coaxing to get my kids to lie in till 8am on a sunday and now i have to listen to somebody elses kids screaming at the top of their voices in the middle of the night (well it seems the middle of the night)

Ive never spoken to the neighbours over the back (infact its impossible as there are quite a few trees between us) the only way i know its them is because our bedroom is now in the loft and we are high enough up to see into there garden.

I did have a brief thought about shouting ala fishwife at them this sunday but thought better of it

That's very rude of them. Even worse that they probably kick the outside so that they can have a lie in ? I'd have to say something.

I am very anti-children at the moment though. Both neighbours have children (well the one side she has her 5 grandchildren everyday) and it's starting to annoy me with all the screaming, crying, shouting. The one neighbour is really loud and plays a game with his two year old, I hear "I can see you" at least 100 times a day. I may have to throttle him.

I dream of the day I don't have any neighbours.

I've always dreamed of living in a neighbourhood where there are no children - better still, a TOWN or CITY where there are no children! Sort of like in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Should anyone know of such a place, I'd be grateful. ?

Personally, I would have done the fishwife thing and shouted out of the window. ?

Here you go, a community solely comprised of retired curmudgeons - you'd be right at home no doubt, but you'd be too young ? Note the additional rules.....

Just go and have a quick word for goodness sake. If you live in a community, any community, you have to be able to talk to the people you live with to problem solve.

And can I suggest that although it is the children making the noise it is the adults who are (ir)responsible for them. Lets not have a child bashing thread today eh?

Im not child bashing ( i cant really as i said i have 4 of my own ranging from 3 to 18 years) im noise bashing

Dont get me wrong during the day they are silent (she must take them out or to a playscheme if she works) so I have no other problem than the early morning wake up calls.

I remember reading about that at the time. The one thing which puts me off is the bit about no hanging washing outside. No children I can understand ? but what on earth have they got against a few bedsheets fluttering in the breeze? ?
