Airbrush make up? Confused!!

Miss B 2 be Mrs H, 21 August, 2013 at 19:53 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hello ladies!

Looking into make up artists and have noticed a few of them use MAC airbrush foundation. I don't normally wear foundation but want to look special on the big day although not overly done...But, what are your thoughts are about using Airbrush foundation? I have heard it's not waterproof?

Plus I have quite oily skin and have heard it doesn't stay put on oily skin well? Any ideas?! I am soooooo confused!

Ok, I DON'T use make up, although have worked extensively with brides and models and tv where airbrush make up is used. The results generally are excellent with the make up lasting much much longer and without any repairs/touch ups needed throughout the day/shoot.

    Hi,

My daughter used bare Minerals which gave a flawless finish and looked amazing all day, and in the photos. If you go to one of their counters or boutiques they will do a free trial to see what suits you.

    Hope that helps.Lynne

I don't have airbrush makeup in my kit as I feel I can get a better finish with traditional foundations and a brush. I set all the makeup that I apply with a spray fixative that waterproofs everything. When I trialled airbrush I found it made my skin look full and quite plasticy. It also felt quite dirty and slidey on my skin after a few hours when my skin produced oil. Juliet x

I offer airbrushing if requested but I tend to use that mainly for tattoo coverage as, like Juliet, I prefer the look and finish of regular foundation. Airbrushing can look quite heavy and emphasise any lines on your face.

In my opinion, it doesn't offer anything more than traditional foundation application and sometimes can look worse.
