jimjams, 26 January, 2013 at 13:34 Posted on Planning 0 9

I need help buying bubbly on a budget ladies!!

I need about 40 bottles of bubbly for our 90 guests and depending on the price, I'll also be looking for 20 bottles of wine for the tables.

We rarely drink at home, so have no idea where to go to get all this without getting ripped off - HELP!!!

Thank you ladies :-)

Marks and Spencer have got 50% off a lot of cases, but it ends this weekend.

I'm with Kharv, tesco wines are very good.

Also they have offers in Costco sometimes.

Majestic are quite good, as you can return what you don't drink.

We used Majestic and they were great. We ordered with 7 days to go (yes, we were that last minute with everything despite booking venue a year in advance) and they delivered straight to the venue.

They have a good offer on Lindauer blanc de blanc at the moment which is what we had and I don't think anyone noticed it wasn't real champagne.

I too was going to suggest tescos, but you can compare online with magestic, asda, sainsburys & morrisons.

Tescos give you 5% when you buy 6 bottles, but often have specials where you get a 25% discount.

    Hi JimJams

You can search for best offers on sparkling on mysupermarket or www.quaffersoffers.co.uk

When are you getting married? Duty on alcohol is going up in March, so buy asap!

    Hope this helps

Tesco wines. We had champers already on 50% offer, then added 10% wedding show discount code, and 10% first order code. Ended up costing less than £11 per bottle for decent champagne!

We're looking at Majestic, but it's definitely worth looking at supermarkets too. My dad got a job lot of a perfectly drinkable Champagne from ASDA for £6 a bottle a few months ago. Yeah it's not Moet but your guests won't notice Smiley winking Cava is also a great, budget alternative to Champagne. Some people like Prosecco but personally I find it a bit sweet.

The champagne we had left over we have used for weekly celebrations, we're on week four and still four bottles to go, lovin married life.

If it helps though, we underestimated on soft drinks, thought I had way too much but it all went so get plenty.
