Alcoholic favours

Sezwest, 21 February, 2014 at 17:45 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi all

I'm thinking of doing minature bottles of spirits for favours. Does anyone know whether it is cheaper to buy the bottles separate and fill them yourself or buy from just miniatures?

ive found a price for the empty bottles which was £44 for 85 bottles

just wondered what peoples thoughts were

thanks

Sarag

That sounds like a nice idea, if you got plain bottles then you could create your own labels with your wedding date on.

    I've seen these minature bottles - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Miniature-50ml-Glass-Spirit-Bottles/dp/B00CZAIMSA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393005405&sr=8-1&keywords=miniature+bottles

I'm buying my own and filling them. When I priced it, it was cheaper plus I get to fill them with home made toffee vodka and home made limoncello. Bought the bottles from here http://www.miniatureglassbottles.co.uk. I preferred the demijohns as they are prettier and done personalised labels for free. I'm going to tie gold ribbon round the neck in line with our theme.

Just a note that you need to check with your venue that they allow alcoholic favours. Ours did but I know some on forums who have been charged a 'corkage' fee.

Thanks for your replies. Yes thankfully our venue allow it, so that's great news.

where did you do your free labels?

The site that I ordered the bottles as linked from did free labels for orders over a certain amount. Can't remember the amount but if you check the site it should say. I'm not saying they were the cheapest btw they were just what I used and seemed reasonable.

We got our bottles from justminiatures in the end. I'm far too lazy to fill my own bottles unfortunately.

For 80 guests it cost me a little over £100.

And for the non drinkers & pregnant ladies I've got them mini jars of jelly beans.

We're not allowed to do alcohol favours or I would have LOVED to do the skittles vodka. I need a reason to do this

That's a good idea AuntieJo1. Other half is going abroad for stag do but don't think he'll be any fit state to think about alcohol favours on way home!
