Well with so many newbies and old faces popping back up (like me, I've been ignoring wedding planning for a while) I thought it was time for an Intro Thread! Had a scroll back and I don't think there has been one for a while ........ ? Anyway I'll start: Name: Amethyst Location: North London Met...

Well with so many newbies and old faces popping back up (like me, I've been ignoring wedding planning for a while) I thought it was time for an Intro Thread! Had a scroll back and I don't think there has been one for a while ........ ? Anyway I'll start:

Name: Amethyst

Location: North London

Met H2B: 17th March 2007 at a Morrissey club night for Paddy's Day. We met through a mutual friend (who I had met on an internet forum funnily enough!). We spent the evening talking, dancing and with him waving lilies in my face.

Got engaged: On my birthday last year in Bruges which is also Valentines' Day. He got down on one knee after breakfast in our hotel room.

Getting Wed: 02/10/10

Venue: Converted barn and marquee on a farm on the Essex / Suffolk borders.

Colour Scheme / Theme: Dark blue (well Spurs blue - H2B's choice!), ivory and lots of natural raffia colour. Bit of purple also for the flowers. Overall theme is quite rustic with lots of lanterns.

Honeymoon - 13 nights in the Cook Islands in the South Pacific then 3 nights in San Fran.

Part of wedding you are most excited about: Err... the honeymoon? We are having fireworks which we are keeping a bit of a secret and our both excited about as we get giddy like kids when watching firework displays!

Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Spending hours and hours scouring magazines and the internet for ideas, making mood boards and on the whole becoming more confident with this planning lark! And sometimes being able to get out of the washing up by saying I am doing 'wedding work'!

Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Realising you can't keep everyone happy with the decisions you make, that and my gym routine and diet (boring).

    Met H2B: March 2005 via internet dating. i'd been working overseas / south england for 15 years, and had not long returned home to live, he'd just come out of a marriage so two lonely hearts who clicked (he's RAF, I'm ex Royal Navy - so share the same daft sense of humour!)

    Got engaged: 19 Dec 2009 on his birthday. He got down on one knee in front of all my family. Only mum knew, so champagne was ready - pity i was duty driver. i was v. emotional so god only knows how i'll be on the day!

    Getting wed: 28 Aug 2011. Charlotte House Hotel, Lincoln - civil ceremony and reception there.

    Colour scheme: Don't really think we'll bother to be honest. He's been married before, so we're keeping it fairly informal.

    Honeymoon; minimoon in Yorkshire somewhere followed by holiday in Thailand when the season is right. A friend has offered us his apartment in ko samui, too good an offer to refuse.

    Part of wedding you are most excited about: just getting married to him to be honest. i'm the last of both familiies to walk down the aisle - it's important to me that we are both committed to each other 100%

    Favourite part of wedding planning: Seeing my mum happy. i've discussed all of my plans with her - none of my siblings did, so she felt a bit left out. although the final decisions will be mine and H2B, mum is grateful for the opportunity to come dress shopping, wedding fayres etc with me.

    Least favourite part of wedding planning: the sleepless nights (already!!) too many things going through my mind

    Colour Scheme / Theme: Ivory and red with a hint of blue

    Honeymoon: Loch Ness

    Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Choosing the dress!

    Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Trying to find shoes that you fit!

    Getting Wed: 5 november 2010 (bonfire night!!!!!)

    Venue: Last Drop Village, Bolton

    Colour Scheme / Theme: Deep Red

    Honeymoon - not booked it yet

    Part of wedding you are most excited about: putting my dress on!!! (thats kinda weird. i havent worn a dress in about 10 years)

    Favourite part of Wedding Planning: looking on the internet and in magazines for ideas and looking for shows.

    Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: trying to keep everyone happy and dealing with people interfering.

    Met H2B: he was a friend of a friend we knew each other distantly but got together after we both went out for the friends birthday.

    Got engaged: New Years Eve - Midnight

    Getting Wed: March 2011

    Venue: not saure yet

    Colour Scheme / Theme: might be purple but not sure yet

    Honeymoon - whatever we can afford once we've paid for everything else.

    Part of wedding you are most excited about: I know it sounds corny and cliche but walking down the aisle

    Favourite part of Wedding Planning: Shopping - i've done nothing but browse online since getting engaged

    Least favourite part of Wedding Planning: Too many big decisions to make with very little input ("it's alright - I suppose" and "I'll tell you if I don't like it" seem to be his favourite quotes)

    Part of wedding you are most excited about, Finally wearing my dress, saying my vows, bieng Mrs S. Having my Mum there, she is 78 and hates flying. Arranging reception party for those that cant be with us on the day.
