All plan, No Purchase...

Snyffa, 8 May, 2013 at 19:20 Posted on Planning 0 8

Anyone else feel/felt like this. We only decided our date in March, giving us 7 months to plan our day, we went straight out and booked venues entertainment and photographer. Now all i seem to do is scour the internet for things like cakes of cheese, dresses, i look in magazines for idea on favours placecards etc....my pintrest looks AMAZEballs.

BUT

I haven't bought anything lol, I struggle to part with money granted, but this is silly...i should start spending money right

we've got just under a year and we've got all the "big stuff" sorted but I now feel too organised with the finishing touches and think I'm going to end up wasting money because I can't stop looking and buying. I really need to stop until nearer the time or I'm going to cost myself a fortune!

Hi. Our date is next May & all we have booked is church and reception venue....but ive actually bored myself stiff looking and not buying nothing. But what I wanted to say was I wouldnt worry about not buying yet because as long as the major stuff that would need booking is done ya no? my cousin had bought her bouquets a year before, the were going to have brooch bouqets. she also bought her shoes and alot of decor stuff...which in the end shed decided she didnt like the colours anymore and ended up selling them all (losing out mega on cost) on ebay and buying new. I know certain things such as dresses etc need to be bought early for sizing depending on what your doing etc...but these days things can be gotten so easy and fixed so quickly their is much more time to browse and research then before.

For my sister's best friends wedding she had booked her caterers 9 months before and they let her down 3 weeks before the wedding. Fonoa reason as stupid as the had double booked the date but living in this age we found a new one within 3 days and it was fantastic xx

I'm the same but I've got bored of looking at stuff too so now I'm doing nothing! We have booked the church, reception venue and the TOG. I haven't looked at dresses mostly because I really dislike all the ones I've seen in magazines. I wonder if it's overkill, when I got engaged I looked through 5-6 magazine but they're all very 'samey' and boring so I've stopped looking. We have been in touch with a caterer but only a couple of e-mails not really any concrete plans. I alos have people asking how the planning is going on a weekly basis and they can't/won't believe that I'm doing nothing. I can't wait to be married and normally I love planning but weddign planning is dull dull dull.

I don't feel we're getting anywhere. We've been engaged 5 years, 6 by the time we get married. We know what date we want, less than 11 months to go and we haven't even found a venue. We've only been in the house 16 months so couldn't book anything before that as all our money was going on the deposit for the house. We don't have lots of money but can at least afford a deposit. It's just feeling like it's never going to happen!

Well ladies I have made my first purchases, I have bought some garden twine, which i have used to demonstrate what i want for my invitations. and I've bought a set of wooden fruit bowls for my evening buffet. I have also bought a table cloth which may be "the one" that we make into my dress, AND Ive chosen papers for the placecards and invites, and chosen cords to make my hand ties these have yet to be bought but not long now Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! And it starts
