Almost there (I think) - any Reid Rooms brides out there?

Mrs-Fletcher-to-be, 27 April, 2011 at 16:32 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi ladies,

I think that we are almost ready to confirm our booking at The Reid Rooms. Are there any other Reid Rooms brides out there? I would love to hear from you!

We are just getting in touch with caterers now so that we can work out whether to go for the venue only option or the package before confirming our booking for next year.

EXCITING!

Its a really nice venue, and I've enjoyed playing there.

I found the staff very relaxed, but professional - whatever you decide, it will be fantastic!

I got married at their sister place, the room at the rodings - and that was lovely! I have also been to a few weddings at the Reid rooms and it is gorgeous - a really nice court yard for drinks too! Good choice!

Thank you Nathalie. It's always good to hear positive feedback from those who have attended a wedding there! Any idea how big the weddings were?

    Ello!!!

I've just booked the Room in the Rodings... Nathalie I would love to hear from you!

Ive gone for a venue only package. We've then chosen and booked Magpie Catering as we're having a Hog Roast for Sit down, and evening buffet. They offered us a fab price and we get to supply our own drink at no extra cost!

That's great news - not quite a venue buddy, but almost!

We're also going for the venue only option. I contacted Chicks and Magpie Catering last week. Chicks were very quick to come back and sound great. Still waiting to hear back from Magpie Catering.

I saw Lizzy from Magpie last Saturday...I think she mentioned going on holiday for a week. Also I know a couple of my emails ended up in her spam box.

For me Magpies prices were cheaper than Chicks. Chicks is actually the company Reid Rooms uses for their package deals.

They have a wedding fair on 22nd May, will you be attending? We are...in the hope of some more bargains!

Where abouts do you live? I'm over in Lakeside! x

I only sent an email to Magpie Catering at the end of last week so I am sure that she will come back to me.

I think that we will go to the wedding fair - think we are going to take my OH's parents as they haven't seen the venue yet.

We live in Blackheath (SE London) but we're both originally from Essex and both of our families live in Essex so we've chosen a venue in Essex.

    Hello again!

I think the wedding parties were in the range of 50 to 60 people.

The food was lovely, and on each occaision they went for a separate catering company. I think this is a great way to get value for money - and offers you the flexibility to source your own drinks (much cheaper). You could also make your own desserts, to cut the price! (That's what we did, thanks to my lovely Mum!!!)

    Hope that helps!

I have worked alongside both Chicks and Magpie caterers at the Reid Rooms over the last four years and both companies have always provided an excellent service.

If you book Chicks to cater for your wedding then you will be guaranteed lovely, large portions of yummy, homely cooking and a team of experienced, friendly waiting staff.

Magpie Catering provided the food for my sisters wedding and they did a great job. I can firmly say that the main course (roast chicken) was really well cooked and I may have had seconds...

I know that both companies offer a tasting service and I would firmly recommend that you consider the trio of deserts....which are AWESOME!!!!

My credentials - I work regularly at the Reid Rooms (providing pianists and DJs for over 50 weddings at the Reid Rooms in 2011) and I am one of the DJs that the venue uses for their wedding package.

p.s. I stumbled across a facebook page called "I'm getting married at the Reid Rooms"....you might find other brides on the page with helpful advice???

Thank you for your message James. We've been meaning to contact you about our wedding as you were playing when we visiting the venue in April. We will be in touch.

We have a meeting with Lizzy at Magpie Catering in a few weeks.

How exciting Jen! Not long now! Do you have everything organised? There is so much to think about, I don't know where to start....!
