    Hi hun,

This may be to late but we got married at Alpheton a year and half ago and I honestly could not recommend it highly enough. Nick (owner) was incredible from start to finish. He went above and beyond for us and made our day so much more special than I could believe possible.

He loves his gadgets and pulled out his drone and all sorts of video cameras etc during the day, and gave us a disc filled with photos he had been taking through out the whole day, what a gem.

So if you haven't done so already go take a look and BOOK!! You will not regret it, I promise.

We had our day published on "Love your Dress" if you want a lookie... http://www.lovemydress.net/blog/2015/03/rustic-autumn-barn-wedding-terry-fox-dress.html

Hope thats of some help and not late. Feel free to get in touch, I love helping new brides!! I want to go through the whole process again, i miss it!!

    xx

    Hi Hun,

I hope this isn't to late, but we had our wedding at Alpheton 18 months ago and i can not recommend it highly enough!!

Nick was incredible from start to finish, no one knows this place and the history better than him and his family, he went above and beyond to make sure our day was more magical than we had ever imagined! He loves his gadgets and pulled out his drone and bits and pieces, at the end of the weekend he sent us home with discs filled with photos and videos he had been taking all day long. What a gem.

So if you haven't already go and have a look and BOOK!! You won't regret it, i promise!

We had our wedding published on Love Your Dress- http://www.lovemydress.net/blog/2015/03/rustic-autumn-barn-wedding-terry-fox-dress.html if you want a little lookie and get some ideas

Feel free to get in contact if you need any help about the area etc, i'll be more than happy to help.

    Hope that helps. Dominique Xx

    Hiya

So glad you had a good experience with AHB (your wedding looked absolutely stunning!) as we booked it in the end for next September! Eeeek!

Thanks for your offer of help...We don't know the area at all so names of any suppliers you used would be amazing! Particularly after a hairdresser, florist and some sort of car to get me there from Lavenham in the morning. Also, where did your friends mainly stay after yours?

    thank you so much xxx

Yay!! You wil not regret it. The amount of people who are still talking about that barn is unbelievable.
We are not from around the area either, but from booking to even today now know it very well.

So accommodation - My husband and i booked and INCREDIBLE house in Lavenham for the weekend through Grove cottages (Lavenham house). Also a big group of my family member, My Granny, Aunties and uncles and cousins all stayed in their Grove farm cottages. However, we had guest staying in B&Bs in Long Melford, Sudbury and Lavenham. All in in good distance to the venue.

Transport - I actually got a Taxi to the venue big 8 seater with my Dad and Bridesmaids. We figured all the guests will be seated in the venue when we arrive and seemed such a waste of money to spend out on a car. We did book through a local company a Mercedes to take my Husband and I back into Lavenham in the evening though. That was just a local taxi firm.

With regards to florist. We only had Gypsophila in the ceremony barn and fresh hops hung on the beams and over the bar in the main bar. I originally had sourced the gypsophila from a company called AS Cunninghams - What a let down, we booked, paid a deposit and confirmed to pick the bunched on the Friday before the wedding, on the Thursday I phoned to add another bunch and it was as if they had literally disappeared of the face of the planet, by the time we got hold of them on the Friday morning, apparently they had no record of our oder!!! Luckily a lovely lovely lady called Sam from Wild Poppies came to my rescue, on the Friday morning she managed to track down her supplier and arranged for us to go collect some Gypsophila from them (www.wildpoppies.co.uk). So hands down one to contact and trust.

Catering, we had a hog roast, Charlie and her team from This little piggy (www.thislittlepiggyhogroast.co.uk) went above and beyond all expectations and her food was absolutely to die for and very very reasonable!!! She supplied all crockery, utensil, napkins and the BEST welcome appetisers and nibbles you've ever tasted. It was a served hog roast with seasonal veg, gravy and big yorksire pudding. ?

Im lucky to have a very good friends who are the UKs top make up and hair artist for Channel, Having said that my mother and sister in laws used Cloud Nine hair in Lavenham and were all very very impressed, they had hair, nails and make up done there.

    Hope tha all helps.

If you need anything else just shout. xxx

This is literally the most helpful post ever. Thank you so much! I'm thinking the same re taxi to the wedding. I feel like there are a lot of details I "should" care about but don't, a fancy car being one of them!

    thank you so much x
