Alternative to a honeymoon help.

cozmiceye, 15 May, 2012 at 14:36 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello,

Ive been reading posts about honeymoons so it has got me thinking about mine only we have a problem.

My son will be 15 when i marry my OH and will still be at school the week after the wedding. The kids school holidays are 2 weeks after we get wed and then we have my OH kids up as they live in manchester. None of my family are prepared to stay with my son while we have a honeymoon so i was wondering if anyone else had been in this dilemma or anyone who can suggest nice places to go for a few days as i think in reality it is going to be a year until we can actually have our honeymoon on our own unless we take everyone else with us.

Really fed up at them min as everything else seems to be coming together apart from this.☹️

Thanks for help x

We're not having a typical honeymoon as we have a 3 year old so my parents are taking him for 2 nights while we have a mini moon in the Cotswold at a lovely spa hotel. Then we are just going to euro camp in August with OH's sister and two boys as that will be lots more fun for my son. I figure we will do all the luxurious holidays when we're older and the children have left home!

Thankyou very much for your replies. I think aslong as we have at leasta weekend to get used to being husband and wife will make it more special and plus finances after the wedding aswell. So think i will look for some nice hotels/log cabins for a couple of days. If anyone can recommend any i would be grateful x

Can I ask what hotel you're going to? We're also thinking of going on a spa mini moon.

We are going, with our two children and OH's bro's family, to a resort in Turkey over half term for our familymoon. Being man and wife doesn't mean we get any more time alone, and that's fine. I'm just glad to be able to get away from home for a bit to wind down after the stress of the wedding, as we haven't been abroad as a couple yet even. But we are glad to be taking some babysitters with us! We might have a late minimoon (alone) next year.
