alternatives to canapes - opinions please

I'm thinking of scraping the idea of canapes and having either cream teas served or ice creams.

Which would you prefer?

    I guess it depends what other food you are doing? Because a cream tea might be a bit too much if you are serving a full on 3 course meal an hour or so later?

    Oooo I like the cream tea idea!!

    We are having strawberries and crudities, as we too are having a 3 course meal 2 hours later.

    Def the cream teas. I only fancy ice cream if its a really hot day, & I too would worry about getting it on my dress.

    If you are having kids there, imagine all the little sticky hands coming near your wedding dress!!!

    I love cream teas and ice cream but I'm slightly biased towards ice cream because (a) it's easier to eat because you can still hold your drink in the other hand and (b) we had ice cream at our wedding and it went down a storm!!!
