Am I doing something wrong??

auntiejo1, 21 January, 2015 at 10:45 Posted on Planning 0 2

As you can see from my ticker my wedding is very close now.... but I do not feel stressed out at all - there has not been one element of the wedding planning that has been time consuming or stressful

I see on this forum that people organise things months, even years in advance - we only really got our bums into gear the last six months, so really, what im really trying to say is have I done something wrong?? Will we turn up on the day and have missed a really vital detail of the wedding??

Im sure we haven't, but something doesn't feel right, Im feeling stressed for not feeling stressed!!

xx

    Hello Auntie Jo!

Everyone handles stress and pressure differently. I've planned quite far in advance, but that's because we need time to save money. We haven't gone for a ready made package and we have a lot to take into consideration. I know I'll be stressed at your stage because I'm a worrier, it's what I do!

I suppose it all depends on your situation about how stressed out you feel! Lucky you for not letting it get to you!

Maybe make a list of everything you've done and what needs done? I had a read through the "what did you regret" thread and it made me think of things I hadn't considered yet so that made my list longer! x

I know people who've planned their wedding in three months and not been stressed. I think if I'd have had less time to plan I would have found the whole thing less stressful because I would have had to be more decisive and had less time to worry about my decisions. The only reason a lot of people book so far in advance is because they need the time to save up not because it actually takes that long to plan a wedding.

I'm always better if I have less time to do something as it makes me get on and do it, stick with what I decide, and doesn't leave me time to worry about making the right choices/if it's going to go ok etc etc.

I'm pretty laid back about planning so far - we've plenty of time and want a relaxed affair - but I'm still questionning each decision and changing my mind about what I'd like lol.

As suggested, I'm looking through the regrets thread to see if there are any things I've not thought of, and have lists coming out of my ears to make sure I don't forget anything that's important to me. If you've got everything done that you feel will be important to you on the day, then take pleasure in getting there without the stress ?

Good luck, hope you have a fab day xx
