Am I over-reacting?

jen_hhl, 5 February, 2011 at 21:16 Posted on Planning 0 4

My MIL2B bought her outfit last week, my OH was visiting today while I was at work. I asked him to find out colour as I am going dress shopping with my mum during the week. However she dosen't wish to share any details of her outfit. Now OH thinks im being harsh as I was a tad miffed. AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! Sorry for the moan, maybe working all day hasnt helped. Think it's time to open the wine!

Hmmm isn't that just rude though, what if your mum clashes with her??

Ahhh try to relax about the whole dress thing. In the grand scheme of things does it matter if they buy the same colour, or opposing colours, or colours that clash? The chances of them buying the exact same are slim so I really wouldn't worry.

I agree - get that wine open!!

I think you are a bit. I think people should be entitled to wear what they like to a wedding (as long as they don't wear all over cream or white!). In the grand scheme of things, is it the end of the world if she wears the same colour as your mum or clashes with her? There's bound to be at least one guest who does one or the other. My Mum and sister turned up wearing the same colour and they just found it funny. The groom's mum is as important as the bride's. It's a bit odd she didn't want to divulge but perhaps she just wants to keep it a surprise for whatever reason. The important and only thing that matters is you and OH are getting married! Everyone could wear sacks and it wouldn't change the most important aspect of the day!

Thanks Ladies, I guess it's not important, just don't want any drama when it comes to the pics. Its fantastic how a large glass of wine makes everything better.

It'll be fine, it's unlikely they'll be stood together in the photos anyway
