Am I the only person not having wall drapes?

Sash87, 20 May, 2014 at 17:29 Posted on Planning 0 14

We've book a package with our venue that comes with a simple decoration package from a third party. This third party are pushing for us to have wall drapes at an additional cast of £800. I've flatly refused this as the walls are in good condition and they are a nice green (my fav colour) but mainly I'm not keen enough on them to warrant the extra money. Sometimes they make me feel claustrophobic and remind me of the lining of a coffin a bit. I was just wondering if I'm the only one that feels like this?

No - I'm, not having them either. To be fair, the venue we have is fine and isn't hideous so they're not needed.

We like our walls so no drapes for us. I think that if we didn't like them we probably would have looked for a different venue!

I just thought it was something you had if you're hiring a marquee? Or is that something different? And pmsl looks like a coffin.... you're right, never realised that before!!!!! Besides, if it's something you don't want that's up to you, they should respect that.

    Mini:

Unfortunately these fall into the same field as chair covers for me. I too find them claustrophobic.

We're not having them, I think they are too expensive and a bit fussy. Our venue is yellow so we are having red up lighters instead

£800?!! I've only ever seen wall drapes used once. The venue called them an "internal marquee", they were supposed to make it seem like a marquee.

Not something I've given any thought to either. Can't remember our walls really, but for the price of a mini break I'll go without lol.
