Am so happy!!!!

A.A.H, 17 March, 2009 at 22:58 Posted on Planning 0 16

I've just had one of those .... yes!!!! ... days.

Son and fdil2b are sorting out what they want and then sorting out my exOH.

I actually feel more like me today (after nearly 3 weeks of feeling decidedly not like me). I have to see doctor again tomorrow and horrors ️ know I'm gonna have to give up booze for a little while. Bad habit, makes you feel good - creates havoc with your health.........da dee dah de dah

AND stupid A360 kept blocking anything I wanted to do. Got rid of that and everything working brilliantly now...

BUT

absolutely amazingly

I HAVE JUST BEEN OFFERED THE JOB OF MY DREAMS!!!!

Big drop in £ but everything about it is soooo right.

OH thinks its made for me.

I knew what I wanted but like every other 'British stiff upper lipped' person out there (we brits don't 'self-proclaim' do we??) I always thought wouldn't it be wonderful if....

I met the owner years ago. We always got on well. and I got a sniff that instead of staff doing stuff owner ended up doing it. We met socially several times. Sent a text saying I'm looking to move on from where I am now - any interest in meeting up/any vacancies and WOW ? not long been out of meeting and been offered THE job of my dreams.

Girls, if you believe/know what you want IT WILL HAPPEN. Don't ever believe you glass is half empty. It IS always half full. To those of you going thru' tough times have a great big ? and just believe. I'm a firm believer that if you feel positive/have good vibes that positive / good things happen.

Don't know what to do but to bounce about - its 11pm and I just can't think about sleeping!!!!!!!

Glad you have had suck a geat day and things are falling into place..Congrats on the new job as well ?

I'm a firm believer in if it's meant to happen it will, when I went to a spiritualist just over a year ago she told me that if I surrendered everything that I really wanted (for our 10 year relationship to move forward, kids etc) it would happen but obviously not as quick as I wanted and I ended up getting engaged about 6 months after that so things are working out.

Hope your good "fortune" carrys on and you can get a good nites sleep ?

    Thank you!

Had the best night's sleep ever and woke up very happy smiley me this morning.

With all the economic problems I thought I had to sit tight in the job I'd got (we're constantly reminded - when all the cr*p goes on that we're lucky to have a job in the current climate!).

I'm going in today to hand notice in. Will be free in a month's time.

    Woop woop !!!

Hope this is catching and others of you who are facing grim stuff soon find things are different for you.

I'll shut up now as I'm sure you're all sick of me going on?

Excellent news! I have a job interview on Friday. Again, it is a huge pay cut but I feel I will be more passionate about it and I will have a much better work/life balance, so fingers crossed!

Good news that your son and fidl are going to sort things out with you exOH. Hope that goes well too!

Hey, and it's sunny today (well it is here)...roll on Spring and Summer!

    Mrs McB2B

Best of luck for Friday - all my positve vibes heading your way. I know exactly how you feel. I've come to realise that money is wonderful but job satisfaction and just feeling happy when you think about work counts for so much more. I think if you can convey your passion for the job/work then you'll be in a really good position. Let us know how you get on.

    Well I did it!!!

because I'm now on holiday (back to work on Saturday) I emailed my resignation over to my soon to be ex-boss with a covering email - hard copy in post tonight. Whilst I am over the moon with new job, I do feel a bit guilty about resigning - is that normal? I think its probably to do with some of the lovely people I work with - but there are some not so nice people there too! Big sigh of relief now I've pressed the send button and put the hard copy in the envelope for posting.

I know what you mean about feeling guilty over handing in your resignation. If I get this job I'll be so sad to leave what has been the best team I've worked with, my staff and other managers. But when I think of my possible future with my current employer I just get filled with not dread, but worry, that I'll have the same levels of stress and long hours and my life outside of work will have slipped me by.

I don't hate my work so I'm lucky. I'm looking for something more suitable without the pressure of being out of work. If I don't get it I'll be disappointed but it won't be the end of the world.

Off to do some more reconnaisance on the new place ?

    Hey, congratulations!

I always liked the saying "you have to love what you do to want to do it everyday". I have tried living by that but sometimes it just doesn't work lol.

Yep you're right. Think its like another one of those, you'll never work another day in your life if you do something you love.

Amethyst - I'm going back to my real love - looking after brides - No, I'm not joking.

    Amethyst,

Freelance, co-ordination (got bookings for the summer) etc but instead of 'doing my own thing' to begin with, I've tied up with 2 venues assisting their owner in development. Will be doing lots of planning, co-ordinating etc etc

Smeetham Hall Barn is lovely. How are your plans going?

I can't find a smilie big enough to match my grin.!

I haven't got very far! ? In my defence we have had pretty full on weekends over the last month and the big day does feel like aggggeeessss away (02.10.10). I guess in wedding planning ideas it isn't!

Would like to sort out catering and photographer in the next month. If you have any recommendations then feel free to pass them by way!

    Amethyst,

You do have loads of time. Excellent Caterers and photographers (as well as entertainment) will get booked up earlier sooner than later.

Dave Court, Court on Camera is one of the absolute best I've seen/worked with. Pengelly are great too

Do SHB have only those on their list - by the way I don't know who they all are. If they are open to others, I have worked with a freelance who is absolutely brilliant and without knowing who is on their list/whether they only deal with them its a bit difficult to say. If you can get the email thing to work then please email me and we can go through names etc.
