Amazon FFS

Iris, 23 November, 2008 at 22:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

I've just done most of my Christmas shopping (and a few birthday presents for december) on Amazon. According to the order tracking thing only one item is due to be despatched in December. The rest is showing as Jan or Feb, FFS it was all showing as in stock when I ordered. It may be a sparse christmas. I'm bloody annoyed as I've been adding to the basket for a few weeks so if I cancelled and re-ordered it'd take me ages to re do.

Has this happened to anyone else? Every other time I'vw used them they've been really quick.

It happened to me too, I thought I had finished my children's presents until my 6 year old announced she really really wanted something else and has put it top of her list so I checked on amazon and it said in stock I ordered then didn't hear anything and then checked the staus and it wouldn't be delivered to early Jan.... No idea why as it is still showing as in stock so I have had to cancel and have to track the item down somewhere else this week.

    Annoying isn't it?

I had this problem with Amazon last year and won't order from them again for that reason. The estimated delivery dates were all for at least 2 weeks before xmas, those dates came and went with no deliveries and when I checked back everything had changed to Jan. It's really frustrating.

It happened to me last year, so I emailed and asked what was going on. They replied really quickly, and said terribly sorry, and my order was dispatched the following day. I wouldn't just stop shopping there without finding out what was going on first.

When you say you've been adding to the basket for a few weeks, do you mean that it was in stock when you added it or did you check again before you checked out? I'm just wondering if it went out of stock between you putting it in the basket and checking out if there was a delay.

I do most if my christmas shopping with Amazon every year and I've never had that happen. We did a big order last week and most of it has already arrived, the rest has just been despatched.

If you were to ask me about superdrug online, on the other hand...I wouldn't use them again.

In that case, I'd definitely email or call them to find out what's going on. What a pain!
