This is my worst nightmare. I hate canned laughter and i dont find any American sitcom's funny at all, in fact I get irrationally angry with them ?

We are avid watchers of The Big Bang Theory (even if we grumble about the dramatisation of the science!).

I really like Modern Family but Boy less keen (although it appears to be growing on him).

We used to watch How I Met Your Mother, but got bored of it.

Have watched five mins of Rules Of Engagement, just to see what Patrick Warbuton is like as an actor (he voices Joe in Family Guy). But didn't like the show itself.

    2 And A Half Men/Everybody Loves Raymond/Dharma and Greg/etc/etc - boring.

I love Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, New Girl.

Also still watch Friends all the time. And Two and a Half Men quite a lot.

    We watch most of those...

Rules of Engagement, Big Bang Theory, New Girl, HIMYM... Also quite into Hart of Dixie too although not sure that comes under American Sitcom.

Used to watch Two and a Half Men but got bored after Chaz went! Not so much of Modern Family or the Middle (as in we don't record it but will watch if on).

    Lots of cartoons...

Family Guy, American Dad, Archer, The Cleveland Show...

We watch all of those! Also really like the American version of The Office, find it much better than the original. H downloads the episodes too, so we're always ahead of what's on Sky over here. I don't know why we bother paying for Sky actually!

We really only watch The Big Bang Theory and Don't Trust the *** in Apartment 23. Friends re-runs are a given.

We quite often stick on friends in background, and then 2 and half men afterwards- although do get annoyed with canned laughter and the sung "men" betweeen each scene though!

Do like a bit of sex and the city too!

I've recently gone from Virgin Media to sky so now have the comedy channel and friends is back in my life. Will never get old. But also loving How i met your mother, Ive downloaded it all so watching it from start to finish as it gets a bit confusing if you miss a few. Not really fussed by the others, Big Bang theory goes on before hollyoaks but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it.

I liked Happy Endings. I watch HIMYM but the story lines are pretty much identical to friends so I get kinda bored of it.

Love Big Bang Theory. Two Broke Girls is quite funny, and the new one with Jason van der Beek is hilarious. Purely because they make him out to be such a sex symbol but I don't remember anyone ever liking him in Dawson's Creek!

Hmm can you tell I only have freeview given that all those programs are on E4.

My favourite is 30 Rock but have to watch that at my mum's house on her fancy tivo box.

We worked our way through The Big Bang Theory and now we're onto How I Met your Mother. Love them, but still prefer old school British comedy.

I don't watch any of these shows, except Friends. Not sure why, I have never even watched part of an episode of any of them so I may well like them if I did.

I do watch a lot of other American shows though, the comedy dramas like Drop Dead Diva, the teen dramas like Pretty Little Liars and 90210 (and I was a huge fan of OTH) and I love all the CSI type shows. I also really enjoyed The Ringer and am quite partial to all the trash, like Jerseylicious, Real Housewives etc.

    This.

I'm going to be honest here.

    I utterly HATE Friends.

    There, I said it.

I don't even know what to say to that. And not because Friends is brilliant (it has had some questionable quality at times) but simply because it so much a part of my life. There's a Friends reference for nearly every life situation!

I just simply can't imagine hating it. It'd be like hating beds, Or Kitchens. Or some other crucial thing.

    Dramatic? Me?

It won't let me quote, but I totally agree Kharv. Everything can be related back to Friends! You can also notice how the newer ones such as How I met your mother use some of the same ideas/storylines.

    I know, I am a complete anomaly.

I just find it unfunny, completely annoying and ridiculous the amount they all got paid per episode.

Give me Fawlty Towers any day.

I LOVE Fawlty Towers! Unfortunately they only made 12 episodes though so it gets repetitive quicker! I can't work out which I've seen more times, Friends or FT. It's a close call.

See, this is one of the things I love about it. 12 episodes and to me, it's as funny as the first time I watched it. The German episode gets me every single time.

I can't stand most American sitcoms. Friends, Scrubs (first 4-5 seasons anyways), Cougar Town, and Modern Family are the exceptions to the rule, though! I haven't seen Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 yet, but I've heard it's good. Tried watching New Girl and got annoyed in the first episode (though my sister swears it turned into a great show). I Hate my Teenage Daughter made me want to tear my eyes out, just like 2 1/2 Men did. OH loves Big Bang Theory, but I'm not a huge fan.

I prefer dramas, actually. Or British comedy. Or just comedy quiz shows. Or stand up.
