An experiment that worked

AmnesiaCustard, 24 July, 2013 at 13:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

Today I conducted an experiment that worked (bear with me here)

I bought a bog cheap brown mascara and used it to "paint over" the (not that many) grey hairs in my parting. And blimey - it worked. grey hairs gone, no weird texture to hair, colour match pretty good. Slightly worried as to what will happen if it rains (couldn't get waterproof mascara) but chuffed with self so far.

Is this a trick everyone else knew about and never crossed my radar before?

I've seen specific hair mascara type dye I'm sure that's exactly for this! But brilliant if you've found a normal cheap mascara works as well!

Fab idea! I discovered a while back that any cheap nail varnish can be used with success, so long as I use a more expensive, good name brand, durable top coat.

I like it!! I need some way to sort out my grey hairs as they come through too quickly for me to keep on top of all of them with hair dye.

If there's not too many, can't you just pluck them out?

I deal with a few of them that way but couldn't do all. Also have a bit of a group of them on one temple.

Is just a stop gap till I can be bothered to buy some hair dye. (Lazy person)

? No! Was just sharing another cheapie beauty tip! ?

As for plucking out the greys, when they come back in they stand straight up and are far more noticeable ☹️

I use mascara on my grey hair all the time. As I have my head shaved my grey starts to come through just before my next cut is due ☹️

(I have been known to use a black Sharpie if I've got to work and missed a bit ? )
