Annoying things OH has done...

Last week I got bitten by midges or something horrid due to all the hot weather. I am very allergic to insect bites so they have swollen up and got worse, which I knew they would as I suffer with it every summer but usually only abroad. Had my usual anti-allergy pills, creams etc with no better results and can't get in to see a doc til next week, so have just been putting up with it feeling a bit itchy and miserable. Had a little bit of sympathy off the bloke, but generally just not said anything.

OH didn't do his houseworkly jobs last week til I made him after I told him I thought the lack of hoovering was not helping if we had dust mites or whatever, so eventually he cleaned our carpet and I have scrubbed the place top to bottom, changed bedding, hoovered mattresses, sanitised everywhere (including the cats in case it was fleas or something they had brought in from the garden). Asked OH to buy me more tablets which he forgot to do of course.

Lo and behold this morning he discovered, with an amusing look of fear and horror, a tiny little itchy bump on his leg and now it's all 'we must deal with this', 'something needs to be done' and rushing off to the chemist to buy a million antidotes blah blah blah. Bloody men! Mine are like huge red scabby pancakes on my leg (most attractive) and he doesn't bat an eyelid, but no when his precious skin has a small dot on it, it's the end of the world.

I can't be the only one. What irritating things have your OHs done?

    Can I join in?

He forgot me on Mothers day, even when I organised stuff for HIS mum. He was too late in sorting out my wedding present so now there's a 4-6 weeks wait (a Pandora charm I really wanted). And after he had NO input whatsoever in the wedding, I told him he could sort out booking a last minute honeymoon. We get married in 4 DAYS and so far he's looked on the internet, sighed a lot, then fallen asleep.

He does NOTHING around the house, he leaves his clothes on the bedroom floor if he THINKS he might wear them again, then when it gets so bad we're tripping over them, he'll suddenly decide they're 'for the wash' and my previously empty washing basket will be overflowing.

He's good at DIY though. And he's a good dad. And he's dead fit ?

I'm only marrying him because he's fit

There are plenty of things that annoy me about him (generally his lack of helping around the house) but I think the one most annoying thing is that he leaves getting ready until the last minute. Say we have a table booked for a meal at 7.30. I suggest leaving the house at 6.45, to get to a bar for 7 for a pre-dinner drink. He will get in the shower at 6.44, leaving me waiting at the bottom of the stairs, coat on, bag in hand, ready to go. He'll waltz out of the shower 10 minutes later looking for a shirt to wear.

Similarly, when we go away for the weekend and take a Friday afternoon off work. I will leave work at 1, have a bite to eat and I'm ready to go - all packed. He will never leave at 1 as he hasn't planned his work day accordingly. Then he'll get home and take a 20 minute shower/shave his head/trim his beard. Then he'll ask me what I've packed for him (despite me telling him the night before) and then go and find some other stuff to pack.

    Drives me crazy!

My OH has got a very annoying, and rather dangerous habit of leaving the iron on. But he only does this when I'm still in bed. It will have been on from 6.30 this morning, until I realised it was still on around 10. I always obsessively check that I've unplugged electrical appliances before I leave. I don't know how I can get it into his brain to check stuff is switched off before he leaves.
