Land of Leather in administration now.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/4222765/Land-of-Leather-goes-into-administration.html

Also 684 job losses at jcb announced today and over 300 at wedgewood.

Things are so grim, and i think it will only get worse.

EDITED AS MY SHIFT KEY HAS STOPPED WORKING! oppps sorry caps!

This isnt a go at you elmo, but i m a little tired of the "another one goes" posts. there will be MANY more to come, and it just smacks of sensationalism. how about "john lewis partnership reports sales 16% AHEAD" of last year as a bit of positive news?

? I agree with Nick, but I am also morbidly nosey. You get splinters from this fence, no? ?

I read an interesting report on those who had experienced sales increases in December and it was surprising. There were quite a lot, despite what the general mood and/or reporting has been. We are talking ourselves into a crisis.

If I'd have found the positive news I would have posted that too. I'm not a doom mongerer but people may need to be aware of this one if they have credit etc with them.

Guess I'm also feeling it as I'm in the area with all the job losses.

Sometimes on here it seems you are damned if you do, damned if you don't as regards contributing to the forum but I do understand you aren't having a go at me personally in this instance.

well like i said, i m not having a go at you, and as clairy said, i think theyre being posted due to some kind of morbid fascination. it IS talking things down though, and the positie news from JL is definitely news, but of course, the media wont focus on that, because it doesnt suit their agenda.

plus, it makes no odds if you have credit with LOL or not. the only issue comes if you ve just bought something, paid cash and its not been delivered yet. then youre up the creek without a sofa.
